Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Apparently it's not just the customers - my brother-in-law is in Ottawa as we speak and just sent me a message saying that the clerk at the store (he didn't mention which store) he checked couldn't find any Orval in the inventory system at all. I'm assuming that isn't true since there were 200 case...

Labatt still periodically brews the Velvet Cream Porter in Quebec for the Quebec market. So, what you had, Bobby, was probably new. We went through this debate on Rate Beer a while back, but were finally able to confirm that they are brewing it again. I didn't find it nasty at all. I thought it was ...

On the IPA designation for Keith's: I tend to agree with you. I wish Labatt didn't use it (I think "ale" alone is more correct).
Except, I've heard more than once that Keith's is brewed with a lager yeast.

Didn't mean to touch a nerve Joe. 8) For the life of me, I don't see anything in my post that could be construed as Union bashing, not that there's anything wrong with that. Jeff You capitalist swine. Always feigning ignorance. :D Actually, just in a silly, provocative mood today. Cheers, Joe

Salut Steve
Hey, let's not go Union bashing. Frankly, I don't blame them for trying to protect their jobs. :P

The pamphlet is an LCBO publication.

LCBO Propaganda

Picked up the pamphlet "At The LCBO, Our Responsibility Is To You." I would find the following funny, if it didn't make me want to scream. Seling Only safe, High-Quality Products The LCBO's Quality Assurance Laboratory ensures that safe, high-quality beverage alcohol products are made avai...

I would be interested to see exactly how the legislation is written. You must remember, however, that in Ontario there is technically no such thing as Barley Wine, there is only Strong Beer.

But if a store like Premier Gourmet can survive in Buffalo why could the LCBO not add a beer section to the big vintages stores in TO and Ottawa? Toronto could certainly support a small section of vintages devoted to better beers. BTW, I was in Premier for the first time over the weekend and if you...

Don't you mean you "wee" there 6 times instead of 3. Although, I think wee-wee is the correct, technical term.

So these guys get to try all the great beers they won't allow us to try. Seems unfair. :( Gunny, we've re-submitted the Smuttynose Porter a number of times and been rejected (even though they've bought the beer twice before, they insist on tasting it every time we present). If I sent you a list of t...

Don't try Three Floyds Dark Lord then. It's makes Expedition seem like a light spritzy brew. :P
