Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Considering the FF at Palais was empty of customers while apparently open whenever i walked past it on my way into and out of Mondial this year which was in the Palais, i'm not surprised it's closed.

Damn, my timing sucks!! My fiance and I are heading to Kitchener/Waterloo on Saturday to spend a day at the farmers markets and in St Jacobs, and were going to meet friends we haven't seen in a while who recommended the Bent Elbow (good to have friends with good beer taste!). I just called to make a...

You mean you didn't just pull one beer out of your bag and drink it on the spot? Rookie! :) I considered it... It would have meant drinking more than one. Where did you get the luggage scale? that's probably a worthwhile investment next time we are flying. I got mine at the Bay, the $10-20 range se...

I've similar experiences to most others, in that i've never had a break. I don't have a hard-side case, i have soft fabric cases to keep the weight of the case down, they have hardish plastic in the sides to keep the shape, but nothing like the hardshell cases. I wrap my bottles first in a ziplock b...

Mondial de la Biere 2011 in Montreal - June 10-12, 2011

I just happened to be checking dates for events in 2011, and i thought i should raise the early warning for anyone thinking of going to Mondial next year, it is the same weekend as the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, which means, the City will be busier than usual, but also that the hotels will be ...

Great Week, hope everyone and their livers are recovering, i don't remember the last time i spent 6 straight nights at bars (had other commitments on the 7th day to the Railway Museum at the Roundhouse). Re: TBW at the Amstersdam

A TBW photographer was busy snapping pics. Yup, its a tough life but someone has to do it :P Pictures from last night will start filtering up early this afternoon, swamped at my real job and trying to take a minute every ten or fifteen to process a couple of shots and get them ready to upload. Good...

For those sitting on the fence about getting out, don't, get off that fence and get drinking!!! The first two days have been fantastic, shuttling between events and choosing where to go has been the biggest hardship!! Looking forward to tonight at The Victory and Kilgour's. Pictures from the week ar...

But by the time you've paid for petrol and wear and tear on yer car etc etc, the prices are pretty much close; if the LCBO sell the 4 pack for $19.99. I have a feeling they'll come in a lot lower than that though. Their pricing is darned good, even if it is heresy to 'approve' of the LCBO. <----- P...

Okanagan Springs Brewery Explosion

Just a bit of flotsam and jetsam in my reading the Globe and Mail today. Its a bit of a candidate for the various FailBlog and "You're Doing it Wrong" pages of the interwebs. Too bad there's no pictures of a river of beer flooding Vernon!! Strange brew: Exploding beer vat douses B.C. stree...

I'm going up to Montreal, leaving Thursday evening after work.

I will probably only be at the Festival Saturday morning/afternoon, taking some quality Montreal Time for the rest of the weekend.
