Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

I worked in the kitchen of a major fest-hall for a while, and it's kind of fun, but it's not about the beer, and most people aren't seeking some sort of deep cultural experience there either. But, it's the only thing that keeps the german clubs in the area afloat, financially. It's fun and expensive...

I've always enjoyed Down the Street Cafe on the main strip. Although they don't have a tonne of options on tap they always have a couple of good ones (including the Stratford Pilsner), nice decor, and good food. I've been to Stratford several times and, while I love the town, there's not much there...

I've had good luck dealing with these folks, http://www.rcbequip.com/ The shipping to Canada is pricey, I think I paid around 40$ for shipping 4 kegs. I still came out ahead of anything I could find for sale locally, or from an online store in Canada. They also seemed to have the best prices on all ...

I pay 25$ at the local Air Liquide place (Tri County Welding in Kitchener) for a 20lb fill. They also do cylinder swaps but mine is a shiny aluminum one Idon't feel like trading for a some ugly steel one :)

I never fined any of the cider I made, but I did let it sit over the winter in most cases... for some stubborn white wines I've used a double-whammy of chitosan and kiesosol, you can get it at wine stores under the brand "Claro-KC", it works really well... not as cheap as a pack of gelatin...

It's a bit far from the GTA, but I had a great experience with the cider I got from Hergott's in Waterloo. Call ahead if you're actually going out there... I got fresh stuff for around 1$/litre

This would never happen south of our border. I'm not sure about all the states, but not everywhere is a great free-enterprise system... in PA they have all sorts of nonsense, and I've been to other states where they have to drape covers over the booze after a certain hour... while I'm no fan of the...

Thanks for the heads-up about Three Floyds. I've got some Alpha King and one bottle of Dreadnought... if anyone is interested in some alpha king, I could be persuaded to do a trade for one or two... I also stopped at a place out in the suburbs, Prairie Rock in Elgin, only had a chance to try the Van...

My homebrew stays fresh for months, obviously since it isn't filtered, the beer changes a bit over time, but it doesn't spoil.

I've got an old guinness stubby too... also I had six-pack of magnum ale stubbies, and one night a buddy tried some... didn't kill him or anything, but it wasn't enjoyable... but we don't have a frame of reference for what that tasted like when it was fresh. I imagine their worth more for collecting...
