Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Those particular bourbons aren’t usually auctioned, although I’m not sure why they went with the VSO site this time around when they used the main LCBO site last time (and even shipped a bunch to stores too).

Is the Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van de Keizer ever coming back? Really do miss that beer.

Re: Top 5 B.S.

Great Lakes Lager. A case of 24 for $50 is hard to beat, it’s good cold, and fits the lawnmower beer requirement.

For non-Ontario, it’s Jever for me - delicious Pilsner that’s relatively cheap.

Re: Amsterdam Brewery

Anyone hear anything about Double Tempest this year? It’s usually released around this time of year, but I haven’t seen any news coming from Amsterdam.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Inflation's a bitch so I've been searching for palatable, cheap options as my "utility" beer. I generally find the German imports to be high quality for the dollar, but honestly I've been drinking a fair bit of Cool Beer and it's definitely serviceable for $39/case. I know, I'm probably g...

Re: Great Lakes

Had a Karma Simcoe last night and it was excellent. Agreed the Lake Effect was tasting really good this year as well. I didn't enjoy Robohop this year however. Nothing wrong with it, I just prefer it being a WC double instead of a NE double. Agreed re: Robohop. It was nice, though, that they releas...

I ended up with an allocation of the Weller 12 and 1792 Single Barrel - nice haul for a first time win!

Re: Great Lakes

The Lake Effect I have been buying over the last couple weeks is in very good form. My memory might not be as good anymore, but it seems to be there with the best of the past years. I think it was only last year when I think it was not quite there. Keep in mind, we are still talking about an agricu...

Re: Great Lakes

I concur, Thrust is tasting really nice this year; one of the best in recent memory. Lake Effect however? Wasn't as impressed, flavour profile seemed flat/dialed down. I noticed this with Lake Effect when I bought some on the day it was released. Ended up buying a couple more cans a few weeks later...
