Re: What're you drinking right now?

Double fisting Fullers Vintage Ales, 2021 and 2011. Love the 2021 balance of malts hops and abv, delicious and dangerously quaffable (at least compared to the 2011) English ale. The 2011 is interesting: low, low carb (zero head), hops have faded into oblivion, flavours are dark, dried fruit; it has ...

Re: Expiry Dates

Portwood --- l should have been more precise --- my concern over bb dates is shopping at lcbo. I've never thought about checking bellwoods since they do small runs and I'm getting it from the source. The other brews u mentioned I've never had but thanks for the examples. My fav brews at lcbo do have...

Re: Expiry Dates

Thought I'd revive this thread from '08 rather than start another....anyway, I'm concerned that Aromatherapy beers have no date codes of any sort on their cans---why not???? Being able to determine freshness is essential for craft beer, imo. It's often a deciding factor for me when choosing a select...

Caledon Badlands IPA

Who the hell are these guys????? Just having my first ipa from them and wtf, it's awesomeness, as in Vermont style deliciousness! Remember Collective arts #5?--- Well, I expect that from Collective Arts , but from some barn in Caledon??? The second I cracked the lid I knew I was in for a Vermont sty...

Re: LCBO Autumn & Halloween/Oktoberfest Beer Releases 2015

I'm excited to see the Ayinger Oktoberfest coming here for (I think?) the first time. IMO it's the textbook Okt/marzen; I've measured all others available over the last few years in Ontario against this and have been continually disappointed--- I think it blows the likes of Sam Adams, Beau's and Hof...

^speaking of pumpking, how have you guys found it this year?---I felt it had something slightly different going on and I didn't love it like I have every other year. Then I noticed sulphites listed on the ingredients and wonder if that caused me some sort of mild reaction--I don't recall this being ...

Interesting comments and rankings; perhaps we should start a thread for oktoberfests like the kolsch thread... Have to agree with midlife that creemore isn't a bad oktober but does taste like "creemore"--their beers have such a distinct house character. IMO Ayinger is the textbook referenc...
