Jeff ... what a great idea! I'm in London right now and just about to head off to the Victoria pub near Paddington for just that ... a pint or two ... or three ... of Fuller's ESB, cask, of course. Cheers! Matt.

Preaching to the choir

I know that this is not "news" to this forum, but it's an interesting article in Slate magazine about serving temperatures for beers.

I just completed my “good bye to London for this visit” pub crawl ... at the Harp in Chandos Place I had a Dark Star Discovery (very hoppy, but very good) and a Dark Star Pale Ale (a bit less hoppy and excellent – Dark Star is a terrific brewery); on to the Coal Hole on the Strand, a Fuller’s Bengal...

For a long time, I drank Molson products, finally settling on Molson Stock. Eventually I moved “up” to Stella, which became my beer of choice. I moved to Queen West, and hung out at the late, lamented Munster Hall pub. I decided to visit London, England, a city I hadn’t seen for a long, long time (s...

Another "must go" is the Market Porter in the Borough Market (http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub470.php) (by London Bridge tube station). Their only regular cask is Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter, one of the best ... right up there with Timothy Taylor Landlord and Fuller's ESB. They also have...

I'm glad I had to do some shopping in Kensington and didn't go there just for the social, 'cause I would have been quite pissed off. The place was so packed, it was very hard to get in, and I presume extremely uncomfortable for enjoyment. I passed on this one.

Hi from London, UK ... last night's casks were Fuller's ESB (amazing and in top condition), Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter (one of the top UK beers), Harviestoun Haggis Hunter (really nice) and Titanic Stuff It (stellar). off to the Windsor Castle pub now for a Wadworth 6X. Another great pub in York is the Maltings (http://www.maltings.co.uk/).

Shaun, the landlord is quite a character, and they have a great selection of beers on tap. If they happen to have Black Sheep Riggwelter on cask, dont hesitate, get one!
