My daughter dates a border guard and we had that discussion. its not the bridge, its not the time of day, its not the amount of beer or wine. its the result of the conversation with the border guard and his though...

For an Ontario distilled vodka the best IMHO is "Tag #5" available at most LCBO's for 25$. I have also discovered another new product called VICE. It's considered a single pour Icewine Martini. Blended from Ontario Icewine and Ontario Vodka. its a pretty interesting concept. Also at the LC...

"Quote from above" but there is so much great quality product that sadly you can only buy winery direct if you live out there or occasionally through vintages here in Ontario. In addition to buying direct in BC from the winery, BC has 20 private VQA wine stores that sell only BC wines in s...

The NAFTA and GATT is nothing more than a goverment excuse. Private VQA stores exist in BC selling all BC wines. They came into effect after NAFTA. The US is subject to the same rules under NAFTA as we are. There are private stores in NY State selling only NYS wines. There is one in Buffalo. There a...

I always give a dollar amount, never a bottle count. When they ask , any alcohol? I always will say for example $ 50.00 worth of beer. Sometimes I have been asked for dollar value of goods and they don't ask for alcohol or tobacco.
Of course if they don't ask I dont tell.

Excellent Letter-a couple of points. The winery stores you spoke of are grandfathered as a result of the FTA agreement of the late '80s. It is interesting that over 300 of those licences exist, however any new Winery after 1989 was not allowed to have a single off-site retail licence. Check out last...
