Re: Esprit Agencies
Will Peters death have any effect on Rochefort etc. being at the lcbo? Will Esprit live on? Rochefort is represented by Horizon Beers. Peter was bringing in a lot of brands that weren't technically his through grey market activity. I know the monks at Westvleteren were none too happy and couldn't e...

He was a pioneer for import beer in this province and one of the first people to introduce me to Belgian beer. RIP.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Not all the beers have been fantastic but it's definitely been exciting to try new offerings from small European craft breweries (most of which I've never heard of or are ever likely to see in Ontario). Whether that's worth $6/per is another question...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
For those (like me) who don't know the details of this, would you be able to provide a short "consignment vs private order 101"? There's a number of things, but, in a nutshell, the main difference is this: Private Order requires the agent to sell all the beer in advance, presenting the LC...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Most other agents haven't bothered to make contact with brewers who make premium-priced beer, because in the old system I think you were better off going with volume. But the LCBO is artificially limiting supply online, so the only products it makes sense to sell cost like $200 a case. Keep6 are th...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Wow, the LCBO has certainly managed to deflate enthusiasm about this new venture fast, by basically launching with just a handful of online exclusives and with anything worthwhile selling out quick. Looks like they didn't plan this out properly and hardly anyone talks about their online store after...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
any word on the new game of thrones beer? Been out in the states for a while now.. LCBO ordered it to have on shelves in time for season premiere... then didn't get pick it up until about a month ago. Apparently some bottles broke in transit and some of the cardboard cases got moldy as result (as h...

Re: CRAFT Beer Market - Toronto
Just to make it perfectly clear: this new keg policy with the LCBO applies only to one-way, disposable 18L kegs. I don't know a single brewery in the world that uses those. Wineries, sure. But breweries? Does anyone on here know of one?
