Small Pony's bottles are 750ml.duckdown wrote: I've only had the pleasure of having Small Pony the odd times they've been on tap at Arabella park. A full pour for $9 vs the $16.99 per 355ml bottle on their website. They were utterly delicious, though.

Re: Talk or Action?
As an aside, TBS is basically being forced to modernize or die, and I will be fascinated to observe their response. The "stand in line and wait for the surly comrade behind the counter to bring you your beer ration" business model was outdated 30 years ago. So far their strategy amounts t...

Re: Ontario brewing cities
Can't believe someone would post that Hamilton, with 6 breweries, is better than Ottawa, with 22 breweries. Even with Collective Arts in Hamilton, Ottawa still has fantastic breweries like Dominion City, Small Pony, Tooth & Nail and Stray Dog.

Re: What're you drinking right now?
I have been loving the bigrig alpha bomb lately, available now at lcbo and also grocery stores. I tried it a couple of times months ago and was disappointed. Maybe they were old cans? But the current batch of sept 18 is hazy hoppy and bitter, with grapefruit tastes. At $2.95 for a 6.6%, 84ibu ipa i...

I picked up a case at the Beer Store that was brewed at the end of June. Great stuff. Possibly the best beer at the Beer Store.GtownRandy wrote:Nickel brook wicked awesome ipa. Quite good, hazy and hoppy, contains my wife’s 3 fave hops, citra mosaic and simcoe

I just picked some of this up today and it's going back tomorrow. Date of mid-May on the can but the hops taste like it was brewed in 2017.Lukie wrote:GLB's Meanwhile..Down In Moxee is drinking pretty darn juicy. Get it while it's still fresh. It's also well priced at $2.74 per can.

Re: Expiry Dates
I've asked Beyond the Pale about their lack of dates on their cans when i was at their brewery and they stated it would cost too much for them to do it. But then again, since they've expanded, they seem to be coasting on their reputation in the Ottawa area. The service at their new location is atroc...

Re: Stalwart Brewing beer removed by LCBO after one day on sale
It's a terrible decision, but the real problem is that it came late. If you want to be overly careful and ban the label, fine. But this was approved and yanked at the last minute. I'd be thinking about recouping costs in the courtroom. I am sure that any brewery thinking about suing the LCBO would ...

Re: Beer in Grocery Stores
At a Sobey's in Northern Ontario, I noticed many of the craft beers in stock were cheaper than the LCBO. All the Loblaws run stores I've been in mirror LCBO prices including sales. Picked up a Halcyon Infinite Mirror today at a grocery store in a small Eastern Ontario town. They also had Beyond the ...

Re: Stalwart
Had their Dos Jefes Vanilla Grapefruit IPA this weekend. Vanilla is an odd addition to an IPA but it really works. But at $4 a can it had better.
