I was at Oktoberfest in Munich in 2008. I went to tents from Paulaner, Augustiner, Lowenbrau, and Spaten. All were serving their "Oktoberfest beer", but non appeared to be the marzen style. They looked like a light coloured helles from a visual standpoint, but with a bigger, stronger, more...

Yes, it looks the same as I picked up in Munich on my way back from Oktoberfest in 2008. It was a 1 litre can of their Oktoberfest beer and a 1 litre "mass" stein, just as you would get if you ordered a beer in the Paulaner tent at Oktoberfest. I think its a pretty good value as I paid abo...

For those that went last year, did they have any wine or cider available? I ask because my wife does not drink beer due to gluten alergies, so I thought it would be a selling point for her if they had wine or cider available. I love Oktoberfest and want to make the trip to this event.

Ryan.

If those are Julian's favourite 20 beers, then he has the most refined taste for beer of any 20 year old ever! I guess it helps to be exposed to the Volo ever changing impressive tap/cak lineup from an early age! It scares me to think of the horrible industrial beers i was drinking at 20! Cheers.

Based on the description, I have to assume its the same pack I picked up at the airport in Munich on the way home from Oktoberfest 2008. It was a box with the Paulaner 1 litre (mass) stein and a 1 litre can of their Oktoberfest beer inserted into the stein. I still have the empty can at home. Great ...

I picked up two cases (48 bottles) yesterday as I hope this will last me a while. I had two bottles last night. Its a beautiful brew in every respect and something unique to the Ontario craft beer scene. The nose is wonderful before even taking a sip! Hopefully sales of this beer at the brewery reta...

I grabbed a few 4 packs of Duggan #9 yesterday afternoon from Cool retail store...had two bottles last night. This is my new #1 Ontario bottled APA/IPA right now. Its very dark copper in colour, nicely hopped, and with a rich taste thats in near perfect balance, and lots of lacing on the glass. A ve...

Cheers to Ralph and family for a wonderful event! I realize there is alot of logistics in setting up such an event! His labours are much appreciated. I was there on Monday for the English Ales, Thursday for a few IPA's, and the late session on Saturday. All three were great! It was nice to sample th...

Oktoberfest events?

Hello everyone, after going to Oktoberfest in Munich last fall, I have an itch to go to an Oktoberfest outing this fall in the gta. I know there is one in Ottawa by Beaus that looks good, but its too far from Toronto. I used to go to the Kitchener Oktoberfests during my University days to see George...

Hello everyone, I am looking forward to some Oktoberfest beers this fall and I was reading an article in this mornings 24 Hours newspaper by Aonghus Kealy that suggested the Sam Adams Oktoberfest would NOT be coming due to a LCBO mistake that assigned the product number on the Oktoberfest as the sam...

I would not classify myself an expert, but had the first Imperial Pale Ale last night and was very impressed. After waiting so long for the order, I almost forgot about it. Its got loads of flavour and its on the low end of the alcohol range for the double IPA style. Based on the flavour profile, I ...
