Re: Too many milkshakes

Blood Brothers does some awesome creamy fruited vanilla nitro brews that are taste/texturally very similar to milkshake beers, but no lactose. Hints are at another one dropping this weekend. Yup had this one and it's much more what I would like from a non-stout dessert beer. Very unique. And I don'...

Re: Too many milkshakes

I liked the novelty when the first wave of Bellwoods Milksharks came out, but they are just too sweet and non-beery. They started to linger in my fridge until I would pawn them off on friends. Overall I've always disliked lactose beers of all stripes (few exceptions). I'm also lactose intolerant so ...

The Mills Taphouse + Grill

I haven't been there but it looks like they have a good selection on Untappd.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Dominion City Two Flags IPA - Week-old can from Farm Boy is drinking very nicely. Bright cascade hops, medium haze and somewhat soft mouthfeel. Disappears quickly.

Re: You know you're getting old when

This trend is unavoidable if you follow breweries or beer posters on Instagram. I believe this is also called the iceman pour.

Folly Heist Sour Pale Ale — First time I've seen anything from Folly at the LCBO. This beer was canned March 26 and employs kveik yeast and lacto bacteria for sourness. Citrusy and light, mildly tart, dry. Nice offering.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Having a Yummy, canned in March. This is up there with Jutsu for best NE style pale in the province. I was also very impressed with BTP's Saison Tropicale which I picked up recently (canned in late Feb). This is super hoppy but the saison yeast profile emerges through the hops. Drinks like an IPA-sa...

The La Trappe stuff (Tripel, Quad and Oak-Aged Quad) is surely not brewed there. It has the Trappist seal on it.

I don’t think so. They also sell La Trappe products in the bottle shop. I do wonder how they get away with it.

Weihenstephaner / Sierra Nevada Braupakt — This is just about at its BB date and has lost any notable hoppiness. However it still a delicious Hefe, on the creamy side with loads of peachy-banana going on. I picked this up at Brunswick Bierworks, they have about 5-6 Weihenstephaner beers in the fridge.
