Congrats to all the winners and competitors. We were hoping to place in all 4 categories we entered but given this was our first time entering a comp ever, I'll take the bronze for the raspberry wheat. It was the first fruit ale I ever brewed and was so problematic from the time the fruit made its a...

As Papazian made a fortune out of this mantra, I'll repeat it: Don't worry; have a homebrew. Honestly, what you think are problems now are correctable in future batches. Secondly, you'll wonder how you can replicate this recipe again. I made a pilsner for my first batch...totally awestruck with the ...

Would have loved to attend but we're actually brewing in the Mancave on Sunday. I like Brewtime though; we get most, if not all, of our ingredients from them.

Have fun folks!

It will still make beer. Relax. That being said, trying to use a stock pot and a stove for mashing does not sound like the greatest idea (I have tried it myself a long time ago). A converted cooler works much better. I agree with this also. One of my first attempts at all-grain involved me mashing ...

Yeah, I just noticed the HP flip tops yesterday; worth collecting a few if that's what people like to bottle in.

Too bad the OP's kit didn't come with a dedicated bottling bucket. Much easier with the spigot to control flow and as someone further up said, easier to prime with the large opening.
