What to do if you think you have a really bad batch (tainted)?

About 2 months ago, I was having pretty severe digestive issues. I'll leave out the details. I attributed it to different foods, and started cutting them out of my diet. It would still happen, so I then thought it might be a health issue. At this point, I stopped drinking beer, altogether, and was e...

Re: Spring Release ???

Anyone had experience with the Grandauer Weissbier?

I'm a big fan of original Schneider Weisse, for reference. Since it's no longer available, it'd be nice to find a good replacement.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I didn't get more information beyond the LCBO rejected their request to sell the non-oude kriek that was available recently. With the prices of some of the local sours and IPAs at the higher end micros, Boon's normal stuff is pretty price competitive. My own biases, but I'd buy cases of their stand...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

This is kind of the opposite of a new arrival, but I contacted the agent that deals with Boon and they said the LCBO rejected their order(?) for a summer shipment. I'm not sure the mechanics behind this, but they sold really well, certainly faster than similar stuff. Well, this Boon lover is tremen...

Re: Upcoming Provincial Tax Increase on Beer Frozen for Two Years

Interesting... My day-to-day beer already went up by $2 a case, in the past month, or so. I suppose that could just be inflation, but the timing is suspect.

Re: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

This is going to give me a complex... I stopped buying Schneider Weisse original, for about 6 months, and it was delisted. Haven't bought SN PA for about 6 months, and it's delisted. Possibly a coincidence, or perhaps, if I don't buy something, it's getting delisted. Careful. Back in early 20...

Re: Talk or Action?

More on this in today's Globe (paywalled) - announcement coming next week. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-ontario-to-announce-plan-to-allow-beer-in-corner-stores/ A government source has told The Globe and Mail that late next week, Premier Doug Ford’s government will unveil a plan t...

Re: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

I've confirmed with the LCBO that SNPA is delisted. Which is a major bummer as that was a regular purchase and hard to find local comparisons. This is going to give me a complex... I stopped buying Schneider Weisse original, for about 6 months, and it was delisted. Haven't bought SN PA for about 6 ...

Yeah, I've wanted a Westmalle glass, as well.

Definitely in for this gift pack!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to Aventinus Eisbock, as well. Can't remember the last time I had it.

Also, the Festweisse is a new Schneider for me. Really looking forward to giving that one a try, and possibly stocking up.

Just having mine, now, and I completely agree. A very pleasant surprise. Sweet, yet still has that lambic tartness.

I'll probably pick up another one.

Re: 2023 LCBO Summer Release

Found the Boon at my local LCBO, today (still not listed, online). I bought one bottle and just tried it. I agree that it's not as good as the last batch, but I'm not sure it's a fair comparison, as my last batch has been in my cellar for a year and a half, and was bottled in 2020. The new batch mos...

Re: 2023 LCBO Summer Release

This could just be me or maybe something I was eating earlier, but the Kriek tasted different than the last time I had it. I understand it's 4th/5th tier kriek from Boon, but I would say get one to try before buying a few cases. That's a bit concerning. I'll do what I can to try it, first. Thanks a...

Re: 2023 LCBO Summer Release

Still no sign of Boon. Should I be worried? I saw the Boon Kriek in the Yonge/ Wellesley (?) store two weeks ago. LCBO app/website leaves much to be desired. Brett-Elle (unfruited geuze from Lambiek Fabriek) seems to be in stores, too. Thanks, it's good to hear that it's actually here, but very dis...
