Re: Who makes a good porter?

...I think that Junction would do one... Hey alsiem, we've got our Hey, Porter! in bottles and on tap at the brewery right now! Also, we've got a 30L keg of Lansdowne's Jenny Lind Chocolate Porter (also available at 303 Lansdowne) on tap right now, available for by-the-glass purchase or a growler f...

people who use the term "hipster" are 98% of the time insecure of themselves and their understanding of what's cool. there were maybe 2 true-definition hipsters in line, and i was in line for 2 hrs and saw everyone pass by. Bellwoods is so far from being a hipster bar, it's not even funny...

Well that's funny. If they are creatively bankrupt, why don't they just make chocolate beers with tie-ins to Canadian rock bands?

From Central City, Look what we have coming to an LCBO near you. Yes, we are proud to announce we will have our Red Racer ISA in 473ml cans in Ontario from April. As far as ISA's go, it's not bad. Good camping beer! NOT coming from Central City: http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2015/03/brewery-...

but, ok.
I guess we'll just have to take your word for it, and not RB/BA's classification, nor the brewery's own website, where both beers are listed as Imperial IPA.

Had this on tap recently and wasn't impressed, but then again the bar that I was at never showcases any beer in it's best light, so I'll give it another go, based on your enthusiasm alone.
So you're a Rhino local too, eh?

Gary, thanks for the informative post. I haven't been to NYC in a few years and a visit back isn't on the horizon - nevertheless, your info (and the time you took to relay it) is valued and appreciated. Cheers.

Personally, I prefer both Robo Hop and Boogie Monster, but you can't go wrong with any of the 3! I'd go with 10 Bitter years too. All great beers though, amazing how Ontario has progressed in that area. 10 Bitter Years has been consistently disappointing. The first 2-3 batches of that beer were the...

Cheers on the new look for the blog, Chris, 1000x better than the old one. Nice review, too. I really like this one and look forward to it (and the Nickelbrook) each year. Not mentioned (and maybe this is just me), but I get a HUGE white Concord grape flavour (along with the other characteristics no...

The Barn Door is REALLY nice. Agreed; a very tasty little marzen, and much more balanced than Sam Adams', which I also find to be a bit too much on the sweet side. Though if the six packs are seriously 10 bucks, I'll probably buy some anyway. It only took a day or two for the stock of the Barn Door...
