Re: What're you drinking right now?

At beerbistro: Great Lakes Hümber Helles What do you think of this? I'm looking forward to trying it if I can find it somewhere. It's so hard to get a decent locally brewed Helles. The People's pint is pretty good. While not earth shattering it's well executed. Muddy York's is, well, not lagered lo...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Propeller ESB I recall reading a comment or two on this forum saying ESB is, perhaps, an underrated style. I would agree in the sense that I don't see too many comments about it. I generally like ESBs quite a bit, and the Propeller I had last night was very good. I always really liked Central City ...

If this 'summer' ever warms up, I'll be sure to seek out their light lime version.

Re: Too many milkshakes

My choice words are...the idea that it's "too many" is when it crowds out other stuff. No, I don't like this style. It's up there with flavored coffee. Why not just make a good coffee instead of dumping some syrup in there? But hey, there are people that like this, so let them have the cho...

Re: San Jose - suggestions?

A few updates... Original Gravity is still much the same, but have added some 'saner'' beers to the rotation, including more sessionable offerings. Didn't grab a sausage, but they were still available and looked good. A new place to me was Uproar Brewing. Nice taproom, not special, not bad. Beer was...

Re: Collective Arts

Yeah, my apologies. That was a drunk post. I never meant to set off a powder keg. I guess what I was getting at was how I'm growing tired of so many brewers who seem to be making products that I enjoy are now jumping on bandwagons rather than sticking to their knitting. I understand many of t...

Re: Beerhive at Pearson Airport

Sadly no. Nothing special. Some 'captive' crafts. I don't think I've seen anything decent on draft. Best choices are in cans. If you have been spoiled by airports like, say, Portland, you'll probably be happier walking around the terminal for a while getting some exercise.

https://www.brewbound.com/news/canadas-collective-arts-brewing-to-enter-cannabis-market I'm going to come off sounding tired and cynical here, but can I interest you in some bitcoin? Re: Collective Arts

The Jan 7th batch of LITC is killer. They have really been off point with this beer lately, but these are back to their roaring best. Hopefully it stays that way. I have been hesitant to purchase their beer for a while now, but I gambled on LitC this past weekend and won. Will continue to drink tha...

North American Craft

I had a friend from out of town buy some random samples of local beer to try and brought some over a couple weeks ago. He generally got lucky with some interesting samples. He left a few behind as he was flying out. One I just decided to try. Something called Hoperation Smash. All I can say is, for ...

Re: Fuller’s sold to Asahi

I'm not thrilled about this, but as far as I can tell Pilsner Urquell has maintained its integrity/quality, so let's hope we see the same outcome with Fuller's. Reading the article it sounds like they have negotiated a guarantee to continue operating and brewing at the Griffin facility, but no spec...

Re: Fuller’s sold to Asahi

So,the two takeaways I got from this article is that Fullers would prefer to be a hospitality brand (because they can't find a way to do all that well in brewing) and that Asahi now also owns Pilsner Urquell, which was a surprise to me. I can't say I'm all that sentimental about this. Sure your bre...
