Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS.

Screw you guys, I'm very mature. I think you're being a little unfair to sean here. I didn't read his post as "why the heck is Bellwood charging these prices?!" but more like "How can I justify buying this at that price?" Of course Bellwoods will and should charge what the marke...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

In their email about Jutsu being available at the LCBO they did indicate that to ensure freshness, they will be making smaller batches and shipping smaller amounts more often, thereby increasing the cost of producing it to them. I’d like to see Bellweiser be next. That said, the nearest LCBO to me i...

You’d think by 2020 I’d have learned to check my junk mail for things like this. But no, I haven’t. And, there it is! Thanks.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Am I the only one who seems to fall off the Bellwoods newsletter email list? I seem to get them for about 6 months then realize I haven’t received them for a couple months. I think I’ve requested to join the mailing list about 7 times since 2014/5

Re: LCBO Winter Seasonal Craft Beer Release 19/20

is it just me, or is the LCBO worse than ever at getting these seasonal beers released in a timely fashion (or even at all) you'd think after all this time the process would be streamlined to some extent As one of my teachers used to say, “you think there is a bottom below which things can’t sink, ...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

It looks likely the Tilquin BlackBerry and Plum were in stock yesterday. Sold out again now. My contacts in the States say it is becoming more and more available there as well and even the Pinot variants seem to be all over the place. I’m hoping we get those soon too. Did Tilquin increase production...

Re: LCBO Lucky Finds

I’m pretty sure the same two Cascade beers were marked down at the Avenue and Lawrence location too when I was there before New Year’s. I passed on them as I only have a half jar of Tums at home right now...

Re: Online order problems...

So, I’ve done three online orders, one for home delivery and two for store delivery. The home delivery went off without a hitch. The first store delivery resulted in me getting a nice case of Spanish wine instead of the beer I ordered. Turns out they screwed up the paperwork, which we eventually so...

I think Skeleton Key is coming out at the end of the month. Perhaps a Pepper one again this year?

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

There really is no rhyme or reason to pricing here. The fact we get Utopias for the equivalent of US$85 when it is minimum US$190 down south is even more confounding. Sometimes companies use high pricing to position their brands as "super premium" in a market. This could be going on here,...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

$22.95 is way out of line with the LCBO's usually cheap pricing for US craft. Holy crap. It cost me less to trade for 2018 Prop and Reserve. It will only be slightly more per bottle for a pre-trade I have for Double Barrel and Caffe de Ola! The one bottle limit is rather annoying too. I think I’ll ...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

The new wild beer, Intermodal is quite good. A little funky on the nose, with some grape, stone fruit and oak aromas and flavours. Maybe a little lemon too. More American than Belgian I’d say, but really quite good. It will be nice to see how it develops over time.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Blanton’s Single Barrel Special Reserve, along with the regular are showing up quickly, and being gobbled up in stores. The former is great if you trade with Americans, as it isn’t sold down there.

OWA 107 has popped up as well. Lots to go around.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

That Notch Polotmavy was spectacular. The head on it was like a Pilsner mousse. Can't argue with that. I really enjoyed both of their beers. The A-list brewery lineup was the main draw for me, but once there I was equally impressed with the wide range of styles available. Just a great festival all ...
