Re: Saturation? Maverick Brewing
I can no longer drink from the fire hose. Good luck, if you are still in business, get good reviews and I happen to be in the neighborhood, you may see me at some point in the future. That is all I can commit to in my support of craft beer in Ontario because there are already quite a few good option...

Re: Radical Road Brewery
I thought all of the beers I had were above average. Yuzu Pale Ale: A cloudy, tart pale ale. This would be great on a patio. Entropy Stout: This was just a solid stout. Midnight Oil Oatmeal Imperial Stout: You would never guess that this was 9%. Hid it well and had a lovely creamy mouth feel. I will...

My friend is involved in the construction. When we spoke at Christmas, the schedule was for an April opening. Not sure if they are still on schedule though.

Common Good Beer Co.
I actually don't have much to say here. I was under the impression that this was a production brewery for contract brewers but they do in fact have a bottle shop. Most of their info is on their face book page. Seems that they have the basics covered for styles and comments seem to highlight the brow...

Re: Left Field Brewery
A shout out to Left Field. They had a great deal on, two 6-4-3 IIPAs, 1 Prospect Citra IPA, 1 Prospect Simcoe IPA bombers for $20. I've seen arguments about the profit margin on direct sales (accepting Amex etc.) so nice to see a brewer having a 'sale'. Lovely local, fresh IPAs. Obviously they upsol...

I wonder if Orval will not be coming with the death of Peter, owner of the what I think is a one man agency, that distributes it. I might be wrong on the latest business arrangement.

Re: Ransack the universe
Hops seem to be a very individual thing for taste and then you add in where on the timeline you are for optimum taste of those hops. Sometimes when I get this I really enjoy the melon, pine, bitterness which plays off a fairly strong malt (sweet) base. Other times it just tastes sweet with a bittern...

I believe I had Crooked Stave Vieille on tap in Denver over the summer. It had more barnyard funk than I was prepared for. Have fun.

New store Coxwell/O'Connor now open
The store opened on Nov. 23rd. The beer selection is certainly better than it was and they now have the cold storage walk in area for beer so that's nice. Unfortunately some of the items they used to carry like Rochefort 8/10 are not there anymore and they certainly don't have the selection of the L...

I know that this was discussed before but they have finally committed to making the old Burlington location into the Funk Lab. I think that's great for the company.

Random Discounts
In the last 6 months I'm seeing that the LCBO is now doing discounts on products. They seem to be random and from store to store they are the individual and I'm not sure how long they last. They do not show up on the website in any search. For example, secret LCBO store (I need to see if they have m...
