Re: Non-Alcoholic Beer
Interesting article about non-alcoholic beer. I didn't know much about the brewing process and this article goes into several ways that breweries are approaching brewing non-alcoholic beers. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68138944

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Not seeing this on the LCBO website but an interesting Saison available now for $7.05 for a corked 375 ml bottle. Collaboration between Blaugies and Hill Farmstead. Haven't tried it yet but looks promising. https://www.ratebeer.com/Ratings/Beer/Beer-Ratings.asp?BeerID=201329 I found this at the LCBO...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
Agreed drank one last weekend and it was fantastic. Will be buying more next weekend when they release the NEIPA versions of Canuck and Octopus wants to Fight. For variety and value, my favorite brewery. The styles they make are what I like to drink.

I was there end of May. Vices and Versa was great, lovely shaded back patio and great, mainly Quebec, tap list. Short walk to Jean Talon market. https://vicesetversa.com/

Re: Signal Brewing Co., Belleville
Jumping in to say that yes the patio is killer. Went as a group of 9 over the summer. Thought the food was solid, flat breads and cheese boards etc. All the beer was good but nothing stands out. They had two lagers, a pale ale, an IPA and some type of sour that no one tried. They were good enough th...

Re: What to do with the Bar Towel Forums?
Late to the party but I think most of the reasons for a slow down in activity have been covered in previous posts. Craft beer is so mainstream right now it is ubiquitous, there is no need to band together to find events or track down new beers. Having said that, I feel that many people on this board...

]any confirmation that this is actually happening? No real confirmation, the product (Timothy Taylor Landlord) is listed as an item here: https://static-proxy.lcbo.com/content/dbwl/en/basepage/home/merchandising-marketing-programs/Workbooks/store-promotional-workbooks-fiscal-2021-2022/jcr%3Acontent...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
I heard on Jordan and Robin's podcast that Timothy Taylor Landlord is coming to the LCBO for the fall release. Anyone have a sense of timing? I think he said $3.95 and I'm going to assume this is for the 500 ml bottle (I don't think it is canned in the UK). For those that haven't tried it, "The...

Re: Great Lakes
I've had at least 8 cans of Lake Effect since it came back in December. Went back for more from the brewery it was so good. Seems old school now but so am I. Who got any Karma Simcoe? Can't belive they sold out so quickly, and even Karma Citra seems gone and that's in the LCBO. Great Lakes make grea...

Re: 2020 Holiday Gift Packs at the LCBO
I'm enjoying the St Bernardus (always stellar) and a new one for me at least St-Feuillien. The St. Bernardus is probably better as it has 6 different brews but both are delivering. I didn't really need another glass but disappointed that I didn't get a Chimay pack. Not sure if it was just more popul...

Re: Great Lakes
I guess Great Lakes Brewery is not expecting keg sales to come back anytime soon. As I write this this have 19 types of beer in the online shop. The Meet the Porter Porter that I just finished was stellar. I bag on them for their thousands of variations of NE IPAs but if they give me a good porter a...

Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers, Imports & Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO
Ok, I think I'm the source of my own rumor then. I saw the fridge full of German stuff in their bottle shop and I thought it was just the same as their Omnipollo beers (i.e. that they had been brewed by Brunswick). They don't list any of their partner breweries so I was left to guess. I just also co...

Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers, Imports & Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO
Sounds promising. I was just wondering what other Belgian style beers were out there in addition to the always excellent Chimay and Rochefort 8/10. Also, I know that we're getting a lot of German beer that's actually brewed at Brunswick Bierworks in East York. That actually sounds very promising to ...

Re: Wet Hopped Ales?
So I'm finding the Great Lakes Chinook Wet Hop just Ok. I think they deliberately choose a very subdued malt/yeast base to showcase the hopes , which would make sense. However, I don't get much hop aroma at all. Perhaps some spicy pine but very faint. The taste has that grassy taste that I expect wi...

Cheers, I've ordered some Great Lakes Chinook. Any early reviews?
