The Bar Towel

I go regularly on long weekend Mondays, as Mondays are their dog-friendly days and the kitchen closed. Lots of decent to-style brews, and some unique experimental ones. I like their annual chili beer, especially the one 2 or 3 years ago that packed a real well rounded and spicy punch.

Indie Ale House used theirs heavily around 2014ish when I was a local regular. Any idea if anywhere still uses these?

Post on reddit referenced a retail employee a few weeks ago starting its in barrels, but will be late this year. Lots of discussion about new ownership changing focus away from the one off specialty brews.

Or even just Brewer's Backyard. Those are the events I miss the most.

I recall that issue going back a while, the owner of 4th & 7 had this or similar happen to him shortly before he decided to close shop (for unrelated personal reasons). A few local locations were under a tighter eye of the AGCO than others.

Ben Johnson did a recent podcast interview, and the reason they had to drop the Post Office was because the owner was dragging his heels on the reno construction, and MY just couldn't wait any longer if they wanted to open on time.

With them not brewing small batches at the Dundas St W location here in Toronto, I think the focus of the brewery has changed. They were always focussing on expansion. Do we have any update on what came of the the NYC Brooklyn location?

Rumours have been floating around a few months, the closures finally led to the confirmations.

It was open a month ago, but I haven't checked since.

One redditor in /r/torontocraftbeer mentioned rumours that Mascot had interested in purchasing them, but I can't find any evidence.
