Re: The Bellwoods Brewery Release Thread

For some reason I thought it was a proper sour, must have mixed it up with something else. Perhaps I'll skip it.

Re: The Bellwoods Brewery Release Thread

I love sours, so I'm always apt to buy whatever I see. I think I'll pick up a couple.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Barn Owl releases? Just wondering if I should buy 4 or not?

Re: Eataly in Toronto

If they had a in-house brewery like the NYC location, this would be great. I hope it materializes.

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons

He is pretty prolific in his production, so of course it isn't all great, but a surprising amount is. That said, I've not been into the offerings at the LCBO, but they've also arrived old. Either way, great bars if you ever get a chance. There are 3 in Copenhagen and a 4th in the works which is a co...

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons

I'll check out Le Saint Bock and follow developments with Exchange.

It was actually a few trips to Copenhagen and trips to Mikkeller bars that really got me into sours.

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons

BakaGaijin - thanks for the leads. I'll take a look when in Montreal next. northyorksammy - West Ave Cider looks to be doing some interesting things with apples . I'm planning a trip to VT and will stop by Dunham on my return. Are there any Quebec retailers which stocks one-off Quebec releases that you recommend (in Montreal, or near Ottawa)? Belgian - thanks for the feedback. I noticed you've posted about Stone City a few times, they have a Brett/Farmhouse r...

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons

Thanks for the replies. Do you think the market in Ontario just isn't there yet? I lived in NY for awhile, and I know the market is just beginning to shift there over the last couple years with 3 or 4 Belgian centric breweries opening. (Side note: besides Cuvée des Jacobins, any other solid sours in...

Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons

Hi, Just wondering if any one has any recommendations on any sours, or farmhouse beer being produced in Ontario (or perhaps Quebec) ? I don't believe there is anyone specializing in Belgian styles, is there (like Allagash or New Belgium do in the USA)? I think Bellwoods stands out at the forefront o...
