Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
I agree, that was a nice beer. Beau's gets crapped on a lot for whatever reason, but I find they consistently put out solid and well made examples of a variety of styles. They're also not afraid to experiment in ways that aren't just "let's add 500 lbs of fruit puree to this beer". Or &qu...

Which is strange considering you can go to any LCBO and get a Radeberger for $2.50.seangm wrote: People will pay $4.50 for a can of pilsner from Bellwoods

Beau's has been pretty lame for a long time now. Overpriced, underwhelming.JaseWescott wrote:
I guess all Beau's cares about is selling more cans of Lug Tread and Full Time IPA? to go from Burnt Rock, Channel Ocho, Dark Helmut, etc. to this is sad

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA - Tallboy cans. Was excited till I checked the stamp. Looks May brewing, so 4-5 months old? Last sixer I bought here was 3 months "fresh," I didn't mind it. Love American breweries. Every time I'm at the LCBO I eye this beer and the Jai Alai from Cigar City, b...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Was never a Mad Tom fan. Boneshaker is a malt bomb. Headstock is still nice but I can never find fresh. And don’t get me wrong, I love the hazy stuff too, but it’s the fact that the hazy has replaced the WC stuff instead of just adding to it, that bothers me. And that’s mainly an LCBO issue, as bre...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread
Feb 6th Life In The Clouds cans are tasting as good as ever. Maybe a tweaked recipe as the description is now "Double Dry Hopped IPA." Tastes a little less sweet and little more hoppy. Visually opaque and pure haze. So many of these VE-style hop-dusty cloudy IPAs/Pales with tropical overn...

Re: Breweries in Prince Edward County
The only new comer to the area is Matron in Bloomfield. Started this spring by the former head brewer at Stone City. They've only just opened, and they have two beers that they brewed at Brunswick in order to have beer when they opened. I'd also add Signal to your tour of you're going through Belle...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Remaining bottles of Founders CBS have been reduced to $6.65 across the province. Quite a steal. Respectfully disagree. The sale started over a month ago and it seems LCBO still can't get rid of the stuff at that price. I found the CBS very good, but not great, so $6.65 is still too high for me. Wi...

Breweries in Prince Edward County
Hey all,
I'm visiting my family at a cottage in Prince Edward County next week. A cursory Google search shows that some new breweries have popped up there. Anybody been to any of them (other than Barley Days)? Anything worth hitting up?
Cheers!

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
The only session IPA that is local that I enjoy is the one at Muddy York. The best I’ve had are the various Lawson’s Super Session iterations. Tooth and Nail had a decent one too if memory serves. I agree that Golden Beach isn’t bad. I don’t mind a lighter body, but some are just plain watery. I lo...
