Re: Side Launch - Mountain Lager discontinued - WTF?

Am I the only one that feels like this media release came through a rip in the space-time continuum, direct from Bizarro World? I mean, sure, spin it up a bit. But, Equals Brewing (of which I'd never previously heard tell) is one of Ontario's most successful brewers? Side Launch Wheat is the world's...

Re: Burlington Brewery

I went by to check BB out the other night. No chips and salsa offered, unfortunately. Wasn't all that busy for a late-week night. This is at least the third place to give it a go in this space, starting with a 'gastro pub' that I'd been to several times a bit over a decade ago. I believe they brewed...

Re: 2020 Holiday Gift Packs at the LCBO

Finally, O'Hara's makes a return. While I wish it was just the stout individually, I'll take what I can get; probably my all-time favourite Irish dry stout. Some other good looking packs in there as well- time to start saving. So the O'Hara's pack was in both of the KGBOs that I've been in recently...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Bellwoods all the way near the bottom of page 3? We must really be spoiled in Ontario these days, ha.

Anyway, Bellwoods are blowing the doors off right now with Hellwoods, Bring Out Your Dead, and a Collective Arts IPA collab available. For anyone interested.

Re: Muskoka Brewery

I've always kind of had a soft spot for Muskoka. Partly because they were one of the best local breweries at the time I was really starting to get into craft beer, and a couple of cool experiences I had visiting their brewery around that time. However, I've definitely paid less attention to them for...

Re: Wet Hopped Ales?

^^^ I find that they often add beer listings to the site a day or so after they appear at the shops. So it probably just hasn't been listed yet. I may go there later to check, if so I'll verify.

Re: Third Moon Brewing

Kind of surprised there's not more chatter about this brewery on here. I've mainly had their IPAs, but they've been uniformly excellent. Kind of bringing back the more classic style IPA, but with a modern presentation.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I don't get why talking about price points is a touchy subject. I also have never understood this. But it seems pretty consistent. When people start talking about price/value, some get a bit touchy. Why? The beer marketplace is interesting, especially these days with so many options. Totally worth ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I dunno, Canuck is $2.90/can and just as good as Jutsu, most of the IPAs I see in the $4-5 range for a 473 ml can are DIPAs. Lagers take more time to brew no doubt, but typically use less raw materials than heavily hopped, higher ABV IPAs so I imagine it balances out somewhat. Bellwoods is straight...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I get my share bit of Bellwoods stuff. My take on their prices is that while their more limited stuff has gone up a fair bit, I think they have actually done pretty well with a lot of the rest. I say this because given how much craft beer prices overall have risen semi-recently, holding the line can...

Re: New Brunswick

Trailway is indeed pretty solid. The do all, or mainly, IPA type stuff. Apparently they now have a bowling alley as part of their brewery in Fredericton. If you (or anyone else looking at this) do get by Fredericton, they have a ton of breweries now, a few are pretty decent. Trailway would be a good...

Well, I thought it might never arrive, but the Dupont Moinette Blonde is finally listed: https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/moinette-blonde-12334#.XesI0ZNKiM8 Only in few places so far, but I only saw it appear on Wednesday (in Peterborough only). In classic LCBO style, you can't...

Keep 6 bringing in La Orange De Dunham is going revive this thread... Had to look that one up. :o Can't see that making to the LCBO shelves. Ha ha ha. I did too, and that's hilarious. Thank you Keep6. OK, all the offended, what say you? Empowering break from stereotype (woman smoking and drinking b...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario

Unfortunately NB generally seems to be struggling a bit these days. Perhaps all those who wanted the scantily clad women removed from the labels will support them now, and that will lead to a large upswing in sales. I mean, there was a guy on a beer board wondering if the beer being worse but the la...
