Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars
My hot take: the LCBO is indeed restrictful regarding shipping. but they negotiate a pretty great freight rate (at least for international items). if you can get your beer/wine to the port, that $ amount per case is peanuts. $16 per case for the LCBO to pick it up from my Belgian breweries is a per...

Re: 2024 Winter Import LCBO Release
Which year Bon Chien. I had the 2009 and 2011. Latest versions a BA Chianti Bon Chien and their 40th anniversary Bon Chien belated happy holidays, Sammy. We're not getting vintages THAT old. haha. I'll check with the brewery. going to assume 2022 or 2023. For this release, it's the regular Bon Chie...

Re: LCBO & the Trade Wars
I'm a bit confused about the various issues here. If I recall, the few out of province brewers that engaged to sell in Ontario largely gave up due to byzantine LCBO regulations, not so much shipping or tariff costs. From my days importing (which I did for Garrison & A La Fut), the shipping is s...

Re: 2024 Winter Import LCBO Release
The goal is to have single bottles available to those that don't want to buy a 6 or 12 pack. looking at 2-3 geuze shelf listings a year. so far, the lcbo seems interested. hoping the lcbo takes the proposal to sell Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien 375s at the end of the year. would be a nice treat for us ...

Re: 2024 Winter Import LCBO Release
3F's oude geuze is finally rolling out to stores. To my great surprise, one of the first two stores listed is in the nice-beer desert of my former borough and current community council. The goal is to have single bottles available to those that don't want to buy a 6 or 12 pack. looking at 2-3 geuze...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Thanks for the response. I agree, many online exclusives usually drop quietly with little fanfare. It would be nice to see 3F on shelves as a more regular occurrence, here's hoping they find a suitable case one day. you can't ask for a more proactive client than 3 Fonteinen. They'll figure it out. ...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Three more 3 Fonteinen bottles went online. Intens Rood Hommage (lcbo has a site error for this, but it's coming) Armand & Lambic Vintage I actually came across a couple from the last release in-store, despite being online only. What's the deal with that, a return, or do some managers order a c...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Looking at their online exclusive category, it looks pretty pathetic and nothing is available There hasn't been a whole lot going on with online exclusives for a while. I think with the loosened booze restrictions Keep6 and others are moving things through non-LCBO channels now. Since they can't co...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
[quote="Ukie"]Liefmans goudenband........ Not really a new arrival, but a new price? $32.00 a bottle $384.00 a case 14% ABV. I'm confused is this the Flemish sour brown ale we have had before or a higher octane version or a LCBO mistake? Look at the ABV on the listing. It's an LCBO error. ...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
I'm referring to restaurants getting the right to sell alcohol to go during COVID. For instance, Keep6 is still importing exclusive beer/wine/spirits, but selling it through their bars other non-LCBO bottle shops. Previously Keep6 would sell many of these imports as LCBO Online Exclusives. Oh. I th...
