Re: What're you drinking right now?

Nickel Brook Party Dad

Funny name and label, it's billed as a "Crushable IPA" due to the 3.5% alcohol. But this is a real disappointment. Very thin and just not enough flavour to make up for it.

Maclean's LazyHazyIPAzy

Nice flavour, but thin body to go with the 4.8% alcohol. I generally like the heavier IPAs, but can't say this one isn't OK when arriving home from work on a hot, humid summer's day.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

a couple of times in recent weeks Creemore Boundless IPA I liked this a lot. The hops were present but not overbearing. I would probably call this a Pale Ale instead of an IPA tonight Folly Heist Sour Pale Ale There are so many sour-type beers available now. I like trying them, but for many, one is ...

Re: ESB and the Bitter continuum

I've noticed that several Ontario brewers are now shying away from using or even alluding to the word "bitter" in their beer names, presumably to not scare away the beer curious. Yah, I think the word "bitter" scares people. St. Mary's Axe Belhoste Ale (previously Canadian Best ...

Propeller ESB

I recall reading a comment or two on this forum saying ESB is, perhaps, an underrated style. I would agree in the sense that I don't see too many comments about it. I generally like ESBs quite a bit, and the Propeller I had last night was very good.

2019 Red Racer Across The Nation Collaboration Mix Pack launches next month. Nickel Brook has a Black Forest Berliner Weisse in the pack. Are they having East and West versions again this year? no promo images yet. Nickel Brook spoiled what their beer was on Facebook a little early. here is a list ...

Re: LCBO.com

The "search all stores" option is gone tonight. What a load a crap. It does seem to work. Even when the site says 'Buy in-store (unavailable)' click it anyway, and then clicking either of ' check nearby stores'/'check all stores' seems to work. Yah, I got confused because the "...

Far superior to bottling.

Yah, I don't really get the 'yawn' comment.

Nita Cranshaw's Spruced IPA

Spruce flavour is present, but not overwhelming. What strikes me about this beer is that it has a delayed and very bitter aftertaste. I love it.

Re: LCBO.com

Hey all, first time caller, long time listener. Jumped on LCBO.com this morning, and the “Check All Stores” is back. Not only that, but now you can organize by Quantity or by City! Either someone at the ‘BO grew a brain, or a lot of people complained. I would bet on the latter. aye https://hellolcb...
