Re: What're you drinking right now?

Counterpart Blender Sour Ale (with strawberries, lemon zest, vanilla and lactose)

The "sour" is buried. The strawberries and lactose are upfront. Tastes like a strawberry milkshake. I don't care for this one too much.

Re: Ontario Craft Beer, Imports and Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO (Fall 2019)

LCBO website still gives me a "not available at any stores" message ... LCBO, being LCBO click on the "buy in-store (unavailable)" button with the red X, then click on "check all stores" you should see a list of stores with quantities quite often it looks like nothing ...

Re: Online order problems...

They often lack any kind of service attitude that is sympathetic to the customer. This has not been my general experience. If I go into a store knowing they have stock of something, but can't find it, almost always I get good service when I ask someone about it. I've had situations where they went ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Found myself at Beer Town tonight (every once in a while, it's good to find yourself :D ), and had Sawdust City Lone Pine IPA. Haven't had this in quite a while. Still love it.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

This is interesting. There's a new listing for Radical Road 8 Track IPA . But there is already an existing listing for Sons of Kent 8 Track XPA . https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchDisplay?categoryId=&storeId=10203&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&sType=SimpleSearch&re...

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario

Still not sure the name of the beer is the problem here. A few years ago, I remember reading about a high school that banned the playing of Billy Idol's Mony Mony at the school dances. It was clearly stressed that it wasn't the song itself that was the problem, but the response it elicited (if you ...

This is now listed, but no stock showing. I'm looking forward to trying this based on style. Is anyone familiar with this brewery?

Re: Sexism in beer labels in Ontario

Different slant on the issue for Nine Locks Brewing in Nova Scotia. It's not the label that is the problem, but the beer name and marketing. https://www.canadianbeernews.com/2019/11/26/nine-locks-brewing-facing-backlash-over-name-and-marketing-of-dirty-blonde-ale/ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova...

Re: Peppered beers

I stopped in at Stonehooker in Port Credit on the weekend. They had close to 20 different beers in the cooler. :o One is Spicy Raspberry 2.0 Saison . The description on the can says: Our Steampunk Saison base has been kicked up a notch with delicious red raspberry and spicy Mexican chiles (sic) to g...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Omnipollo Prodromus. For some reason I was expecting much sweeter, but there is a bitterness here that I find very appealing. My recollection of this is that is was very sweet, matching the desert flavour description on the can. That’s interesting. I’d be curious about your comparison between the O...
