Paniza Brewing

LCBO has a new listing for Paniza Pilsner https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/german-pilsner-16023071051/paniza-premium-pilsner-15711#.Xne0V0BFy70 I haven't heard of this brewery. Not sure how long they've been around. Their website says "award winning beers". I searched...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Niagara College Small Batch 2018 Rudolph's Black Nosed Ale Got this from a friend recently. Not sure if he also got it recently, or picked it up some time ago. Based on the name, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, perhaps just a dark ale, but it turned out to be very porter-like to me. Not sure w...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I've been really happy about the latest crop of canned Ontario pale ales and IPAs at the LC lately, particularly the New England varietals: ⋅ The newly New Englandized GLB RoboHop is amazing. ⋅ Their Karma Citra, Octopus and As Far Back... are also strong picks. ⋅ Juts...

A bit of a nostalgic trip. Molson Stock Ale at eBar in Guelph. Ya don't see this one everyday. I suspect a bunch of the younger participants here have not had it. :)

Lake of the Woods Nautical Disaster Dry Hopped IPA

Given that my general memory of Lake of the Woods' beers is nothing better than average, and that this one wasn't really fresh, my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite good.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Refined Fool Zane Lost His Avocado Bag Brut IPA Described on the can as "This champagne-like IPA is a pale, dry, bubbly delight". I was a little hesitant - I don't tend to like a lot of carbonation. But it was good. Description is accurate to me, so if that appeals to you, probably worth a...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I have a soft spot for Kingston as I went to school there.

A new brewery, Daft Brewing, has just opened there.

Re: LCBO Winter Seasonal Craft Beer Release 19/20

is it just me, or is the LCBO worse than ever at getting these seasonal beers released in a timely fashion (or even at all) you'd think after all this time the process would be streamlined to some extent The issue with the delays is an interesting one. It's a dance between the brewery not having th...

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

My boss is trying to organize a scotch tasting for clients. Looking to pick up around 8 bottles in the $70-100 price range (although it would be fine to have an outlier or two of more expensive and/or some cheaper value options to keep things interesting). It will be a blind tasting, which should b...

Counterpart Blender Sour Ale (with strawberries, lemon zest, vanilla and lactose)

The "sour" is buried. The strawberries and lactose are upfront. Tastes like a strawberry milkshake. I don't care for this one too much.
