The Beer Store in the news for losing money

Saw this on Canadian Beer News.

Best quote: "Retail analyst Lisa Hutcheson said The Beer Store’s retail model is antiquated and doesn’t hold much allure for shoppers."

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Muddy York Diving Horse Pale Ale I just received a delivery from them about half an hour ago, and cracked one of these open. It's excellent. I generally don't worry as much as a lot of you about how old a beer is, but I'm not saying it isn't important. This is only 7 days old!! It's nice to be work...

Rodenbach Grand Cru Flanders Red Ale Aged in Oak Foeders

Have to say I did not like this at all. I found the "sour" very unpleasant. Must be just me; I took a quick peek on BeerAdvocate and it gets good ratings.

This caught my eye. Bear Russian Imperial Stout An award-winning Scottish brewery crafting conversational beer. This full-throttle stout is aged for four months in ex-whisky casks. It pours black, revealing the whisky's influence with coffee, chocolate, fig, vanilla and orange preserve notes. It's f...

Re: Left Field Brewery

I heard word today that Left Field is increasing their staff pay to $22/hr. Kudos! I won't even complain if there needs to be a price increase to support this. Agreed. Our craft beer industry constantly churns out deliciousness for us to enjoy and I feel like we rarely ask ourselves how the staff a...

Mill Street Hopped & Confused Vol 3
I didn't know they have had more than one version.

Czechvar Dark Lager
I don't know if there's anything special about this, but I wanted to try it last time it was in the LCBO and didn't manage to get any.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Hey Man, I need to commend you on this 'review'. Reverance barrel works Basic-I downright hated this beer. Something about the bourbon/cinnamon/lactose flavours mingling just completely turned me off, I don’t think I even finished the bottle. I seem to be in the minority on this one, but not for me....

This is completely foreign territory for me. Where do you buy these tonic syrups?

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

LCBO is screening people with questions before they enter. do you have sniffles? do you have diarrhea? sick to your stomach? Really going to back the lines up now, if you haven't bought already good luck! Did you mean a lineup to get in, or to check out? Haven't seen a line-up to get in since the s...

I went to two Burlington LCBO's yesterday, this was not the case. Might be Toronto/Peel only, or perhaps stores that have particularly high traffic?

Storm Stayed

Storm Stayed has announced a mixed 24-pack to celebrate their third anniversary. https://www.canadianbeernews.com/2020/12/07/storm-stayed-brewing-releases-3-year-anniversary-box/ I was a little excited at first, but am hesitating because of the prices. $100 + $15 shipping is about $4.80 per can, and...
