And for those who don't find beer semantics silly, Tankhouse is classified as an APA on both RB and BA, it meets the BJCP style guidelines for an APA and there is no recognized beer category called 'Ontario pale ale'. What, so we can't talk about a specific regional style of Pale Ale in Ontario? Wh...

I picked up all 4 pumpkin ales in one fell swoop last night.

With GR Highballer also joining the fray, that's 5 pumpkin beers available at the LC at once...isn't that getting a little carried away?

I had the Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest at West 50 this past week. Not bad for a lager.

Overlapping Oktoberfest feature, OCB feature, Halloween release and Autumn release. Who do these LCBO people think they are?

Oh for goodness sakes, forgive me, but that is just silly semantics. If we are discussing favourite hop-forward pale ales or India pale ales available in Ontario, surely Tankhouse qualifies, and in fact deserves some respect (though it's not my personal favourite) for being one of Ontario's pioneer...

Drinking Made Easy: Season 2

Premieres first week of October on HDNet. Apparently they travel to 4 Canadian cities as part of their tour this time round...Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Vancouver. I'm interested to see which bars, breweries or distilleries they visit in Toronto and Montreal in particular. Anybody hear anything?

Sounds like you needed to extend your trip for 'personal days' CD! Beers at Brutopia are... kinda Brutal Topia. Lived and learned! Benelux has a fighting chance for very good tap beers, and so does Cheval Blanc on a good day. Same St. Bock. All strolling distance downtown, really I can't understand...

Didn't end up buying or drinking much at all on this trip, due to workload and socializing with colleagues. I had a 'pint' of amber (there's an unpleasant sweetness to this one) at L3B on Monday night. On Tuesday night we went out for my birthday, at Brutopia I had a glass each of the stout (not bad...

I've never seen FM Smashbomb in either of the two better LCBO's in Barrie. Perhaps it's sold quick every time..but regardless, you would think that a top priority would be to keep it stocked in the better stores in Barrie, no?

Peter, what's the deal?

This thread got me thinking about Unibroue in Ontario in general. A few years ago it appeared that they were making a push to further penetrate our market. It appears not to have gained traction. In fact, they have gone backwards it seems. Other than a single bottle of LFDM in Creemore, stock of 750...
