As a scotch fan, I totally and thoroughly enjoyed this. I could quibble over a minor flaw or two but really this is a quality beer at a reasonable price when you factor in ABV, packaging, barrel aging, size, etc... Glad to see interesting things like this pop up here in Ontario.

the oak-aged St Amby Stout Imperiale Russe is no slouch itself. Maybe because it was one of my firsts, but still one of the best tasting stouts in the country IMHO. Just did the 2009, 2010, 2011 side by side and I'm really liking how the 2009 is tasting, much rounder, most of the bitterness has dro...

It looks impractical to me. If you want a glass to become a 'standard' it has to be more than a gimmick and 'look cool'. Thin glass, unstable looking base - seems a recipe for breakage.

Bottling up a pale ale/IPA featuring Nelson & Citra. First time I brewed small batch inside, typically been outside on the turkey fryer. Happy with how it turned out so far.

Had a can at The Only, quite enjoyed it though, as people are mentioning, it's not a typical anything. Sort of an American hopped strong ale meets, Imperial India Brown...? Bold, slightly roasty malt base with a very pithy grapefruit and pine bitterness. Love a hoppy beer with a complex, bold malt b...

An American styled barleywine, which we threw a half lb of chocolate malt into. We went with a recipe that leaned to a drier take already, and with the roast it's barely recognizable as a barleywine. Right now, fresh, drinking like a roasty American strong ale, quite a pithy bitterness and juicy hop...

Bar Hop and The Only both do $5 pints on Sunday and WVRST does $5 pints on Monday. Yeah, these limited ("select" OCB taps) one-day offers are pretty modest compared to the dirt cheap, everything on tap, multi-day deals in the States, but still decent value considering many draughts in T.O...

With our old friend Bobsy:

a homebrewed Belgian IPA
Muskoka Kristalweisse
Beau's Fous Allies (gaining a little funk, bottle foamed, still nice)
Pretty Things Our Finest Regards (one of the better barleywines I've had recently)

Let's be honest - as we see the big players like Molson infringe on craft territory/market and try to throw their weight around, its going to strain what has been collegial relationships among craft brewers & push craft brewers into defensive mode. It sounds like Steamworks reacted to Granville ...

to the slippery OP, your best bet at getting an un-blended lambic in TO would be to drink a bottle of Cantillon at beerbistro, if you need a bottle for at home, your gonna need to shop in the states to find it I've never tried to buy any Cantillon while in the US on account of my not liking it; but...

Had it on tap at The Only a while back. Didn't really do it for me - too sweet, too simple of a base, too reliant on novelty of flavors. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't something I would jump to revisit.

I always enjoyed the Lion's Winter Ale back when I was getting into craft beer in BC and always found it something that 'nominal beer drinkers' enjoyed as well, with some obvious vanilla flavorings. Interested to try it again many years later to see what I think... still has good memories for me.
