Re: 2012 Cnd Brewing Awards discussion

Here's a list of the award winners http://www.greatcanadianbeerblog.com/2012/06/2012-canadian-brewing-award-winners.html I'm going through the list and I kind of wonder: how seriously should we take these awards? Buzz Beer winning a gold medal for amber lager? some other strange beer awards as well...

Black Creek Riflemens Ration- Very nice beer. I have a soft spot for brown ale and this one doesnt dissapoint. Has a smokey/roasty character that finishes dry. Has a nice spicy.herbal hop profile also.

Very cool stuff. I like getting mix packs in the states, and can see myself purchases one like this. My only question is if the krystal will just be a filtered version of the summer wheat.

Enjoying a sixer of this. Good beer. Nice and sessionable. A little bit of a one trick poney as far as hopping goes. All orange zest, and not much else. Decent beer though. Much more drinkable than crazy cannuck in my opinion.

Had a bottle of this tonight while eatting some muscles. Wasnt a fan when I first poured it, but as it warmed up the flavor and aroma really came through. Excellent offering.

Beer styles aside, I think this is a great beer. I drink alot of west coast hopped beers, so its nice to drink a balanced english ale. I will be buying a few more of these. I just wish it was it was cheaper, and could session this all summer long.
