From the desk of 'wild ass guesses': Mill St. 35-40000 HL Steamwhistle around 30-35000 HL Cool around 25000 HL Great Lakes around 20000 HL Wellington around 15000 HL At or below 10000 HL Are your guesses production or capacity? I'd assume some would have capacity quite a bit bigger than current pro...
As someone who has lived in a province where Orval was a general list item, I can share your sense of joy. However I feel it necessary to warn you all that it hurts like hell when it gets de-listed. I suspect you will all do your best to keep that from happening though. As you were.
It may be the closest location to the protest zone at Queen's Park? The Yonge & Wellesley LCBO is closer. You really think the troublemakers will bother with the official protest area? I suspect they'd be worried about folks who initially head to the official protest zone then get pissed off an...
I should explain why I was asking the question. I am doing background research on the Creemore Springs Brewey expansion and would like to know just where Creemore fits into the craft brewery market in term of volume output. Their current output is 50,000 hl per year. How does that compare to the ot...
Probably not surprising, in the Double IPA challenge I picked out the Garrison from the first sniff, but didn't guess any of the rest correct. I scored Half Pints and Great Lakes the highest, closely followed by Tree.
Any word on when the results for the Double IPA fest might come out? Or even just the beers in order as they were served? I'd just like to know what was what.
Spezial Hell? Yeah. There was a Spezial Hell Weisse available a couple months ago. Chancey Smith's had it on tap as did a few other places I believe. It's all I drank for a month. You mean this? http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/denisons-spezial-weissbier-dunkel/117617/ Yep, that is the one. Delicious! ...

Glad this came up. Had one of these at Caplansky's when I was in T.O. on the weekend, and this very well may have been the beer of the trip ahead of all the beers in the Canadian IIPA challenge at Volo. Packed with flavour and complexity for a 5% abv beer, and easily surpassed the Ayinger Altbairisc...
The Coast has sadly caved and pulled that article. I don't know if I'm more pissed at Labatt or more disappointed in The Coast, who prides itself on its independence and loudly complains when anyone in the business-world expressed their opinion because of their corporate bias.
Yes, great time at the IIPA tasting. Great to meet a few of you in real life too. Look forward to seeing the results.
And I have to say that if I could transplant one bar into Halifax to be my neighbourhood pub, Volo would be it. Just love the feel of the place to go with the top notch selection.
Oh for f**k sakes. Just go ask the SAQ how many kids have been in trying to buy it in the past 10 years it's been available there. Rounding up it's probably still zero.
