Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Refined Fool has some nice tricks up their sleeve. I'm looking forward to trying that one.

Re: Batch

I'll take a Creemore Keller over any trendy rotting/brett/sour/mop bucket mess with a goofy misogynistic or sports themed name any day... This is correct. Fresh Creemore stuff (FRESH being operative here) is a lot better than much of the rest of the market in Ontario. The problem is dirty lines and...

Re: Toronto Brewery District

There is precedent. There was one in the 1890's before Davies unionized, everyone else went on strike and screwed up the alliance.

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

The nomenclature is important here. Ontario doesn't recognize "craft". Ontario recognizes "small brewers" in their legal framework. Interesting. For reasons I can't explain, I've never been keen on the term "craft beer". Back in the 80s and 90s, we spoke of "micro...

Depends on what the brewery decides to do.

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

...I'm going to ask you to go with me on this: Do you think that they would have been included during the first three months of the program? Do you think they would have been everywhere? Most places in Montreal you're lucky to get 50 and Boreale and Heineken. The IGA you're talking about, I'm betti...

... To be in a number of grocery stores you need to be able to make like... 30,000 HL of beer annually? The good news is that small breweries now have the ability to expand into an expanding market... Last week I was in the IGA at the Alexis Nihon Plaza in Montreal. This is an ultra-modern grocery ...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

Farm Boy's got beer in a fridge now. Looks like a similar selection to what Loblaws had. Way to start a conspiracy theory man! https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/92/97/87/9297875a5a73a13d6c240e208b66a989.jpg There's no conspiracy.
