Wasn't it Wellington that did a smoked meat and brussel sprouts beer a few years ago?

Re: Becoming a Brewer

I thought my downtown condo was too small to brew in....until my girlfriend bought a 1 gallon kit from Brookyln Brew Shop. Turns out we can (and now do) brew in our place. I'm not saying get their kit, but think smaller batches and I'm sure you can brew at home. EDIT: Also, I wanted a job in the bee...

Re: First time tapping a keg - advice needed

Definitely will work with TBS keg pump. International (European) kegs use a different coupler.
FYI, the only beer store location in the city that rents the pumps is Dupont and Bathurst.

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?

Royal City in Guelph does some pretty cool things including a tasting contest to help decide the house yeast for the brewery and two barrel aged Oud Bruins with different brett strains Black Swan in Stratford has some solid offerings Stack in Sudbury have done some good things and some so-so things,...

Re: Zwanze Day 2015

We showed up after 9pm. Walked right in, all beers except one or two gone.
The lines were almost non-existent until they closed the outside bar.
Everything I had was fantastic except for the DDC symbiose #5 : a weird cheerio/graham cracker flavour killed any real funk or bitterness.
Great night.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

this is showing stock now, anyone try it? TBW 6 BOROUGHS RYE PORTER LCBO 438093 | 500 mL bottle Price: $ 7.95 It's actually quite good. I wouldn't age this more than this year to be honest, everything is pretty smooth. Four roses really comes through when it gets warmer. Had this last night. I need...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

FRACTURE IMPERIAL IPA LCBO 436998 | 6x355 mL bottle SEASONAL/LIMITED QUANTITIES Price $ 16.95 not cheap considering what twice as mad tom goes for.. I had to check, I never buy Twice as Mad and thought it was still only in 4-packs....I would argue that fracture is a much better IIPA, but I'd rather...

Re: Hamilton people, help??

I don't think there is anything walking distance. The West End pub at Emerson and Royal is not too far, but pretty standard beer list.
Despite being at the University, that stretch of Main St. is pretty desolate.

Re: Jester King in T.O.

Great event last night. I got there just before 9 and never waited more than a few minutes for beer. A few things ran out before I got there but I was able to sample 6 or 7.
All beers were solid.

I love the cocktails at Northwood, but every time I've gone the drinks take 10-15 minutes to make.

Re: Zwanze Day 2015

More information is indeed out: http://www.barvolo.com/blog/zwanze To summarize: You can buy a tasting ticket for $25 which includes one 4-oz pour of the Zwanze beer and a glass ($15). Tickets will not get you any sort of priority admission. It's just going to be a line with one-in, one-out. They w...

However....in my experience, tickets or not, there is always lots of beer left when they opened to non-ticket holders at 9pm.
