I regularly have Aventinus in my fridge along with Salvator and Schlenkerla of course, mostly in the winter. In summer, I regularly carry the Schneider Weisse and Paulaner Wheat and Schlenkerla of course.

So... I'm doing my part!

If that is the smoky one then I tried it...not rushing to get anymore but to each his own. Man, I love this stuff! I always keep it stocked in the fridge. In fact, I had one yesterday. I agree that the Raftman isn't very smoky smelling or tasting. As an alternate, the Church Key Holy Smoke is prett...

The Strand is no longer affiliated with Amsterdam

I called yesterday to confirm my Winterlicious reservation at the Strand and the person I was speaking with informed me that they are currently waiting for their liquor licence as they had to change from a brewpub designation to a regular restaurant liquor licence. He mentioned that the arrangement ...

Portland Beer House

The former Amsterdam bar on King Street West and Portland is now operating under the name Portland Beer House. They've always owned the bar... It's just that they served exclusively Amsterdam brews for obvious reasons. Now that Amsterdam is gone, they have opened up their taps to other micros. They ...

Beer tasting event at Castro's Jan 21st

You guys wanted a beer event... here's one I found in Now Magazine:

Yeah, I was there. Didn't see any Bartowellers though, nor was there any "Representatives from all our beer suppliers will be attending" present... not even Ken who is usually ceremoniously at the Bow every Monday night! They poured free pints from 5 until about 7:30 and served free appeti...

Colin, I love you man!

You'll be seeing a lot more of me now (be warned) as I'm only an 11 minute walk away from you from my work.

Good timing as Bollicine's (a 2 minute walk from work) is now closed. There's a sign on the door that says the landlord has taken over the premises! :(

You won't be finding Stein at the LCBO, as it was a private import. I'm not sure who else out there got any.

Discovering the Mysteries of the Craft Brewers - Nov 24th

Just spotted this event in today's Now Magazine: Beer learning and tasting with Bill White of BeerTV. 7pm. $25. Summerhill LCBO. 416-922-0403. I called the number above to find out which "craft brews" will be served and after being transferred twice, I was told to call back after 2pm and s...

The fest was awesome as they usually are at beerbistro. Lots of food being served and good beer to be had by all. The waitstaff is very professional and knowledgeable. I was happy to see other restaurateurs partaking in the event. Namely, Ralph from Volo and George from C'est What were enjoying the ...
