Wellington as well.

Trafalgar once had one, it was very acceptable the first year.

Sierra Nevada has excellent harvest ales. I grab those when I'm in Buffalo.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA - Tallboy cans. Was excited till I checked the stamp. Looks May brewing, so 4-5 months old? Last sixer I bought here was 3 months "fresh," I didn't mind it. Love American breweries. Every time I'm at the LCBO I eye this beer and the Jai Alai from Cigar City, b...

Godspeed Oct 2019

Godspeed has two fruited ales freshly on offer. Kekkon Wedding Anniversary Ale is new!. Kekkon 結婚, reminds me a bit of really good Raspberry Wheat ale, plus hints of lactic sourness, sea salt and smoke. I like the acidity. Kazoku Tart Saison with Plum is as good as last year, possibly better. Lots o...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux 2016 - wow this brew is ageing nicely... I’ve got two more of these sleeping. Will likely open one with Xmas dinner. Had one last year at that time and it was sublime. Inventory check. I'm looking at five of the 2016 ALBV. I still have the magnum 1.5l of 2014, but as thes...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux 2016 - wow this brew is ageing nicely for anyone who scored a few spares to lay down. It's gotten rounder and smoother over three years, and perhaps it will continue to evolve as more delicate and slightly drier over time. Shana Tova. https://craftbeerlove.files.wordpress....

Godspeed Friday

Shiranami Hefeweizen. From GS brew pub store - IMO better than the previous iteration I found mediocre and too dry. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EDO0eJuXsAE0vw7.jpg This is excellent stuff, particularly if served not too cold, it has a great spicy-fruity roundness, textural doughiness, citrus and a p...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I've had Jai Alai at about 2 months old and it was still tasty. But I would guess this will arrive super stale. Too bad. Maduro Brown is coming this fall, not really exciting but probably ages better. Hopefully Cigar City sends something dark and robust as part of the winter seasonal release. Canne...

Re: Manly Stout and Mountie Maple Stout

2017 St-Ambroise Stout Impériale Russe (Bourbon Oak aged RIS) This is a good Impy, the hops are still a bit grassy and the wood is lightly astringent. The most recent St. Amby RIS I opened before this was 7.5 years old and ageing into a real beauty. It can therefore use time to integrate. Worth hid...

Bailly Crémant Burgundy

Bailly Lapierre Réserve Brut Crémant de Bourgogne Here is a decent sparkling white from Burgundy in cool Northern France, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. These Crémant wines are nothing like Asti Spumante wines because they are bottle-fermented in the same manner as Champagnes. While actual Champ...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

Feb 6th Life In The Clouds cans are tasting as good as ever. Maybe a tweaked recipe as the description is now "Double Dry Hopped IPA." Tastes a little less sweet and little more hoppy. Visually opaque and pure haze. So many of these VE-style hop-dusty cloudy IPAs/Pales with tropical overn...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Fat Tug in cans and it's drinking very nicely right now! Thanks for the heads up. I went and grabbed a half case and it is indeed drinking great. Glad to see fresh(ish) cans here, as Fat Tug is one of the best WC IPAs made in Canada. Like most beers in the style, I prefer drinking this only slightl...
