Re: Oh by the way...

Sgt. Major IPA won a silver medal at the Canadian Brewing Awards! Gold Medals went to: Phillips Original IPA, Old Yale Sargent's IPA( both from B.C.) and Wild Rose Industrial Park IPA of Calgary. This is the first medal of any kind we have won, so it's quite exciting. P.S I'm posting a lot because ...

It will cost me as much for the lables for this as it does for a years supply of labels for the IPA because i have to order 10,000 labels minimum. I know Belgian beer is not your kick, but some Belgians have no labels... I'd still buy a short run of your beer with no label, but that's... priobably ...

Re: new at The Beer Store

Speaking of wishful thinking, every beer store in town has the Haker-P Munich Edelhell listed as a stocked item but none have it...when I see it I will buy a couple of cases as I can't rely on the flakey way distribution of craft and import brands are distributed/ordered. Spoken like a true Ontario...

Hope the fun of it makes it all the more worth your while, it is a rare event.

As you can see from other comments we're like kids at Christmas waiting for this.

Wow OF, I read Rob's post and immediately thought of Arkell, which I tried recently in bottle and it was remarkably bland, flavorless stuff. They could work on that. I have had very decent UC draught on tap in recent years, but maybe I was just grateful it wasn't defective. UC used to be really unre...

To that general statement I make an exception for Karlovacko (from Croatia), a quite drinkable lager with an interesting sweet floral note of chrysanthemum. Not every pale beer has to be a symphony of hops.

Being unpasteurized and local it's the sort of thing we really get the best of here in the Toronto area.

I like the tradition of drinking local beers preferentially, as Europeans do - fragile beer behaves best this way.

Do you think these marketing shills actually believe the crap that constantly spews from their cakeholes? No, i don't think Marketing Schills actually beleive anything they say, but they make good money for saying it, so if you work for a soulless factory producing beer, you might as well spew soul...

Your first in the Ukraine Peter? I'd like to see more Eastern Europe, farther afield of Prague, my Grandmother's city. Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria. Slavic women are really something else aren't they. As you say the encroachments of Canadian living become readily apparent elsewhere (why should our Joy...

Micros WILL come and go regardless, the niche always gets filled. I agree people are making so much of this - I only compulsively bought UrBock recently because it was 'pre-Molson', aside from liking it better than the lager and I'd miss it the odd time. But Creemore's NOT my go-to beer, and besides...

I agree - the last Urbock I bought recently was great, it's not Weltenburger but then not every beer has to be! I found it really special. And it had enough gentleness to appeal to a large audience, just as it us, unchanged, 'un-frankenbeered.' We are so afraid of change yet change happens whether o...
