Re: Side Launch - Mountain Lager discontinued - WTF?

Interesting article. Perhaps it wasn't selling well?

Side Launch's stuff is usually pretty fresh so I always thought it was selling through.

Looking for someone who has been hanging onto multiple (3+) bottles of Bellwoods Lambda.

FT: I have a bunch of stuff coming to me from the US that I'm sure would please. Mostly IPAs and dark beers. IP GTA only.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

It's been $8 or $9 since they switched from 650ml to 500ml bottles. Fair enough, I could be wrong about the price history. Sipping on another Hellwoods now and I'm sure they've added a tonne of oats to this to make it extremely thick. You could almost eat it with a spoon. It's gotta be one of the b...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

This year's batch of Hellwoods is probably the best yet. Super silky, soft and full of chocolate and cherry somehow coaxed out of the malt. I always thought it was good, but a little overpriced. I think they reduced it $1 to $9 this year, probably because the latest Black Liquids is $10. Both stouts...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Panil Barriquee Sour has been reduced $4 to $11.95 across the LCBO. No mention of the reduction on shelves or online, just a new price.

Re: Stone City Ales in Kingston

The more I sip on this the more I’m thinking this was mislabelled. They also had a stout with brett which is much more fitting to what I’m tasting. This is downright dry and.. I’m getting pineapple notes on the nose

Re: Stone City Ales in Kingston

Drinking a 2018 Juggernaut and... this beer is sour. Over carbonated and really just not what I expected from a BBA stout. I’m sure this is why they only charged $9 for it.

Anyone else had this sour stout?

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I've seen "clearance" discounts of 30% at various stores. Great if you can find 'em.

Re: Floaties - Am I the only one

When it comes to hazy NE IPAs I have taken to rolling the can/bottle gently before opening and/or agitating it before pouring last few ounces, much like one would a wheat beer. I think it better integrates any sediment so there are less floaties and more generalized haziness. Sometimes the floaties ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff IIIPA— Surprisingly good. Probably the best hoppy thing I've had from FM. Barncat Cats in Space IIPA — Chewy hop juice. Barncat Pulp Clementine IIPA — Amazing, the fruit is not heavy handed, yet very present and makes for a delicious combination. Easily gulped. Barncat Fea...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Marston's 61 Deep Pale Ale — Very nice golden ale here. Crisp, refreshing, well balanced. It's on the dry side and with some hop bite surviving the voyage from England. A truly sessionable ale at 4.1% abv and $2.35 per 500 ml.

My Jan 23 Laser Show cans were less than stellar. Not as hazy as I remember.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Didn't know the YUZU was so fanstastic, it's dry and tart with interesting flavors going on. Japanese citrus fruits flavour it. Radical Road Yuzu Pale Ale, canned this month. It's somewhat one dimensional — but that dimension is Yuzu. I don't know if it's just me, but it takes about a half-pint for...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Bad, predictable news for hop lovers: the latest US imports are 2+ months old.
Stone Ruination: Nov 7 2018
Oskar Blues Dales Pale Ale: Nov 19 2018
Founders All Day IPA: Early Dec IIRC

Picking up Left Field Laser Show canned Jan 23 was a no-brainer.
