Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers & Pumpkin Beers at the LCBO

updated list with imports section. the LCBO agent isn't sure if these Imports are final and last year the Lederhosen and Dirndl packs hit late Summer or early Fall and were not on any list so keep your eyes peeled! 8) next quarterly list should be Winter season which begins first week of Dec. Nice ...

Re: 2020 Holiday Gift Packs at the LCBO

Huh, some interesting stuff in there. Bourbon barrel aged Imperial porter gift pack, and all the Belgians! St Feuillien, st bernardus, Petrus and Chimay! I'll finally get to try the Chimay Doree, fun. No Bons Voeux though, which is heartbreaking. Hopefully that CA gift pack, isn’t just their name f...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Compared to a few years ago, there is a tremendous availability of beers with varied and intense flavours. This is good, but I was talking with another Bar Toweler recently that sometimes you just really want, for lack of a better word, a "regular" beer. Had a Saulter Street It's About Bl...

Re: 2020 Autumn Ontario Craft Beers & Pumpkin Beers the LCBO

Glad that the Henderson Stout is back, I thought that was really quite good. Interesting that Fracture seems to be listed as cheaper than in other years??Hopefully that doesn’t mean they’ve lessened the hops in it.

Re: Great Lakes

BURST! A New England Pale Ale coming to the LCBO. https://www.canadianbeernews.com/2020/08/05/great-lakes-brewery-burst-a-new-england-pale-ale-coming-to-lcbo/ I do enjoy pretty much every ipa Great Lakes put out....but honestly, how many NE style ones do they need? I’d love a bit more diversity. Ma...

Re: Cigar City Marshal Zhukov Russian Imperial Stout

+1 (not worth $20, even for 650Ml) I was wondering at the high price, but I like it. Heavily built. The flavors are dense and carry on for a loooong time... it's a good hybrid of UK traditional and USA style RIS, with some nice leathery tones setting off the ample richness. There are many good RIS ...

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

This new Pilsner is great. I love good pilsners. There's more Ontario pilsners than I tend to think there is (perhaps not all 'good'), but they don't get the same attention as, say, IPAs. Yeah. I think to be made really well they require costly time, attention and finesse - all on top of the expens...

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

This new Pilsner is great. The very first, original
Pilsner used to be my fav, but this one is even better I think.
Glow Cloud really really good as well....tasted more dank than I remeber it.

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

No beer for weeks and then they sell all the IPA's to a few reselling hoarders today. Came 2 hours after opening and the IPA were gone, allowing shops to buy 20 flats at a time. Lot of hilariously unhappy people (I guess I'm one of them) with BarnCat right now Wow, that went fast. Glad I was there ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

A few new-to me ones lately. Muskoka Tread lightly-been drinking lots of this. Very good for a low abv beer, with lots of flavour And doesn’t come across too thin either. Collective Arts ipa13-maybe on par with the latest surround sound, for their beat beer that I’ve had. Elora Pilsner-great clean c...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted — Lovely soft mouthfeel on this, very close to a cask experience. Solid British golden ale. Very sessionable, 330 ml is just not enough, so buy extra. Is this back??? I remeber having it years ago, enjoyed it but didn’t think it was anything special. I was a big fan...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Flying Monekys Psycho Thrill Seeker is a DIPA with coriander and lemon peel. Luckily, the coriander and lemon peel do not overpower the hop taste. I'd have to try this side-by-side with Nickel Brook Metal Head DIPA to tell which I like better, but I think I like thrill seeker a little more. Agreed,...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I am now quaffing an Unibroue Autre Chose IPA a la peche, purchased from the LCBO. The strong peaches taste/aroma goes well with the citrus fruit hop tastes, an earthiness, and a yeasty spiciness. There is a lot going on in the palette, and it is all well balanced. I recommend it. I was quite impre...

Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza — Three years resting in the bottle... We need more Jolly up in here! 8) Two Belgian experiences that Belgian is now experiencing are: Meuse Saison de la Meuse, and New Limburg Blond. Both bottles are one or two months young, and in fine shape... I'm very much liking t...
