Re: What're you drinking right now?

Barncat’s Mother Night. Rye barrel aged stout with maple syrup——-I’m not big on sweet things, so when I see maple etc in beers I’m generally pretty apprenhensive. This beer however, is unreal. From the very first sip to the last it’s a masterpiece. It’s lip smacking thick and sticky with an underlyi...

Re: Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

Going to Barncat on Friday, is there anywhere else in the C-W-G area worth stopping in for? Rhythm and Brews beers are ok, from the 5 or 6 I’ve had but nothing special. The space itself is pretty cool though, it’s ablut 500 meters around the corner from Barncat. Northworks does Crowlers if your int...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Boulevard Whiskey Barrel Stout — This brew is actually a blend, containing 1/3 fresh (non barrel aged) beer, and you can definitely tell. It's just not as intense as your average well-made BARIS (Double Tempest comes to mind). But it is a tasty stout no less with whiskey barrel and chocolate/carame...

Re: Collective Arts

Seem to be reading/experiencing more and more inconsistency and quality issues with CA these last couple months. Are they maybe stretching themselves a bit thin?? I agree that they seem to be having inconsistency issues lately. I regularly buy LITC but have found it to be basically a different beer...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I’ve had bounty hunter a couple of times and been underwhelmed each time. I never get the adjuncts from it and just get the base beer(which is nice tbh). From my experience, probably my least fav Bellwoods beer, apart from some of the OG beers in the first year or two

Re: Fairweather Brewing

Drinking Fairweather’s Donna. Their first kick at a pilsner(and lager in general i think). It’s absolutely fantastic. Lots of apple and pear, crisp cracker malt and a really clean dry finish. It’s honestly tough to put down for more than a minute between sips. Damn near perfect in every way. Fairweat...

Re: Anyone Brewing Something Special for the Holiday's?

Royal city is releasing an Xmas themed pack. Only four beers I think though. I can’t rmember what beers they are....other than one being called “the Gose of Christmas past”

Re: Worst Ontario Craft Breweries

Anyone have opinions on Orange Snail in Milton? I only ever had one of their beers and it was terrible....no desire to try any others...unless it was just bad luck on my part. I’ve had their Pale ale once. Not bad, but definitely not good.....just, there. I’d likely never buy it again, but I’d drin...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Beau's Farm Table ESB — Actually a really great ESB with deep layers of fruity malty goodness. Reminded me of the one I had from Yorkshire Square at Cask Days. I'd love to have this on cask. Reasonably priced too. Good to know, I live a good ESB and feel it under-represented around here. I’ll drink...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I have been loving the bigrig alpha bomb lately, available now at lcbo and also grocery stores. I tried it a couple of times months ago and was disappointed. Maybe they were old cans? But the current batch of sept 18 is hazy hoppy and bitter, with grapefruit tastes. At $2.95 for a 6.6%, 84ibu ipa i...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Over the last couple of days. Fuller's Vintage Ale 2018 Fuller's Imperial Stout Crooked Stave St. Bretta Late Spring and currently, IPA #7 from Collective Arts. For me personally, this is back on track after a not disappointing, but completely unexpected, IPA #6 The IPA 7 is delicious, the Nelson h...
