Fairweather is fantastic, but I’d say that Merit is almost equally as good.

Re: Side Launch - Mountain Lager discontinued - WTF?

Yeah, not cool in my books that they’re replacing it with an (apparently) far inferior product. To me, side launch always represented a brand that knocked out a couple of classic styles and totally killed them all. The mountain and the dark are phenomenal for the style ..and while I’m not a big whea...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I really don’t care for the Boulevard Stout. Bought 4 bottles, should have only bought 2. Also, I bought another Black Butte. I know I said I wouldn’t, but it really is a beautiful beer, and it was staring at me wanting to go to my home, lol I’m thinking I may end up buying another one as well....e...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

I bought two cans of the sparkle puff when I saw them, and I’ll say that both were pure smooth haze. They were nice and tasty, but about halfway through the second can, all I could taste was tinned peaches. Not that it’s a terrible flavour, but for me it’s not something I’m wanting in my beer. Not s...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Anybody tried the Black Butte XXX??? I splurged and bought it, somewhat against my better judgement. I’m hoping to like it as much as I like Nirmal Black Butte when I first had it. It doesn’t do it quite the same for me these days. I bought it at Landsdowne LCBO where there was no price tag on the ...

Grandmas boy—-a bit more sour this year I feel, but tasty As hell CA ipa 8——one of the better releases in the series, on par with number 3 for me, not as good as 5. Dominion city Sunsplit—-super juicy and tropical, excellent. Barncat Pulp—-the best iipa in the province,End of. 4L worth between Frida...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Cracked my first bottle of this years Grandmas boy last night. Fantastic, really tasty. I think it’s quite a bit more sour than the last version...but I talked to a friend that had one, and he didn’t think it all that sour at all. Maybe my palate was a little off last night?

Re: Collective Arts

The January batch of LITC is spot on, as others have said. The No. 8 IPA is awesome, and Surround Sound is juicy and bitter AF. Collective Arts ahem been rocking it lately, and I still believe they're the best readily available brewery in the province. Throw in Lake Effect from GLB, and we really a...

Re: North American Craft

Yep....I foolishly bought a can of Hoperation as well a couple months back. Pretty shite tbh and a total waste of my money. Then I started reading the can, and a name of the owner(I think) rang a bell. It took a little while, but I remembered that it was the same name as used to be on the cans from ...

Re: Collective Arts

The Jan 7th batch of LITC is killer. They have really been off point with this beer lately, but these are back to their roaring best. Hopefully it stays that way. I had a fresh(10 days or so old) Ransack the other day. I thought that this one had been lacking a bit lately as well. However, this can...

Re: Muddy York Brewing

I really enjoy the Gaslight Helles.....one of my go-tos when in the mood for a solid Ontario lager from the lcbo (side launch being the other). I agree, I’d like to see more, really well made lagers around these parts.
