Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Bellwoods Brewery Jutsu 473 mL can | LCBO#: 16051 $4.50 I rarely make it to Bellwoods so I'm excited to have access to this again. Also 2xIPA by Anderson Craft Ales IPA - Imperial / Double / $3.50 (355 mL can) / Ontario, Canada Had this at Steamwhistle Beerfest, it was one of the more memorable tas...

Re: 2020 Spring Ontario Craft Beers and Imports at the LCBO

A few of these already out.
Strong Patrick,cowbell hazy day,

The hazy day is decent, but to me tastes like a weaker version of Ransack

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Over the past couple weeks, lots of Barncat Pilsner. Absolutely top notch, a definately contender for the best made Ontario Pilsner, only a hair behind the first running of Fairweather Donna.....but better than the subsequent batche(s). A large step ahead of Bellweiser IMO. So crisp, clean and straig...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Unibroue 25 anniversary beer. Not sure what this one was like fresh, as I never tried one(or how long I’ve been holding on to it tbh). I seem to remember seeing some pretty mixed thoughts on it. I’m really enjoying it. Got the classic Unibroue house yeast background, with a strong(real)cherry flavou...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Saw a bunch of monks stout here in Guelph yesterday. Also saw Yeti on shelves....I don’t remeber reading that it was coming back

Re: Fullers imperial IPA

Glad I'm not the only one. I actually drank the one bottle over two days, using a champagne stopper to preserve the CO2... still quite something, it's very stunning in as you say a British way, it's a powerful beer and one it's worth buying again and cellaring some to develop for a few to several y...

Re: Fullers IIPA

Fullers Imperial IPA — Really nice beast of an ale. Firm Euro hops and massive malt. Fruity, bready, herbal, sweet and bitter. In its latest effort at over-packaging an ultra premium beer, Fullers triumphs with the darkest amber ale you've ever seen. Densely flavorful, exudes richness and a hop oil...

But it's a good brewery so I guess I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Someone please try one and report back!

I’ll hop on this train as well. Not buying any, unless I hear good things.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

La Trappe Quad. Definitely a step below Rochefort 10 and Westy 12 but a very good quad nonetheless. I agree with this assessment. However, if you get the chance to age it 4 or 5 years, it improves dramatically. It becomes more complex. that reminds me.. I don't think St. Bernardus sent us the Chris...

I’m a big fan of the belhaven wee heavy. It’s a true classic, back in the motherland.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Writers tears Copper Pot. I was in the store looking for a cheap single malt scotch for around 50$ but couldn’t really find anything that I wanted. I’m not usually an Irish whisky guy as I find them a bit too sweet, but I took a Punt on this as it was coming with two nice glasses and I needed some e...

Wellington’s Crispy Forever. Their DDH version of Helles Yeah!
Super tasty, great hopping on this beer with the Helles undertones. I’d love for Welly to make this part of their core lineup. Probably in the top 3 beers they’ve ever made.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Drinking a couple Grain and Grit beers the last few days. First time I’ve had any of their beers in over a year. Wasn’t over impressed the couple times I had their stuff...up until now. Sweater weather coconut oatmeal stout was really tasty with a nice body and just enough coconut; perfect balance. ...

Re: Refined Fool

I’ve had a couple down the years, although to be honest, not in the last 2 or 3 years at least. I only ever see their stuff at Zehrs(loblaws) these days. I agree with previous poster, nothing special but not bad.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

^^^^ To be fair, I haven’t had that particular beer. But everything I’ve had from fixed gear(6-8 different beers) has been very average at best. I won’t be buying any more until I hear otherwise. I’d definitely say they’re my least favourite brewery in Guelph. At $4.25/can I'd hope for something a ...
