Who brews the Dragon's Breath now? Do they do it themselves? Brings back memories of Hart Brewery; Dragon's Breath used to be one of my go-to beers.

Haven't been to the KBC in many years but I remember it was pretty good, although the food didn't blow me away.

I will definitely buy more of it this time in case it disappears as quickly. I don't usually buy Creemore but this was is a winner.

I consider myself a fan of Bogwater and I also noticed a difference between what I had this year at the Cheshire Cat and what I had last year at Beau's (and the growler I took home). I hope to make it back to the 'Hill to pick up some more before it sells out. My only complaint with Beau's is that t...

What idiots. It's one of my go-to winter beers at the moment but I will be sure to only buy it in Quebec if that's the silliness we get from the LCBO.

When they introduced the BYO legislation in Ontario, I was hoping that the province was turning a corner, but apparently not.

Beau's Oktoberfest was a great time, but was it ever packed! I heard they planned for 1000 or so and ended up with 4000. Fortunately we went early and were able to try a lot of the food...which was almost uniformly awesome. A lot of the places were selling out of food pretty early. The Night Marzen ...

Really tall Czech crystal pilsner glasses are amazing for lagers, if you were thinking of buying a few.
I find the tall, thin glass included with the St Peter's gift pack this past Christmas makes a nice substitute.
Lol. That's exactly the one I've been using for the Creemore as well.

The IPA has yet to make a return appearance in the Ottawa area. I wish it would, and soon, as my stock has run out and it's one of my favourites. I'd love to pick up some this weekend. I'm less enamoured with the Raspberry Wheat; but the IPA is great and I'd love to try some others.

You should be safe. I was at Rideau after 5 pm and it was going but there were still quite a few cases left. They could well have a bunch more in the back; hopefully it will show up on their web site and we can know for sure.

I picked up a couple of cases from the Ottawa (Rideau & King Edward) LCBO today. It seemed to be going fast, unless there's more in the back. It's a very nice beer. I didn't expect it to as light tasting as it is (as it's labelled "Generously Hopped") but it's a good summer beer. The c...

I've never tried Grand River (although their web site says they're available at the Wellington St. Gastropub here in Ottawa...good to know). I'd say my top three are: - Beau's (Lugtread but I've liked all their seasonals too) - Mill Street (Tankhouse and Coffee Porter in particular) - Church Key (IP...

One Imperial IPA that I've got from Hull/Gatineau is "La Maitresse" from Au Maitre Brasseur in Laval. I forget if I found it at Jovi or La Trappe. It's pretty good but I'm not as enamoured with Doubles or Imperials as with standard IPAs so I'm perhaps not the best to judge. It's 8.5% for w...

I commend anyone for publicly taking a stand against the "government-facilitated" Beer Store monopoly. Good for him, it's only through continued whinging that anything is going to get done. At the same time, I think the monopoly issue is completely separate from the price issue. There'd be...

For drinking at home (i.e. buying bottles) I'd also say Ottawa, for drinking outside the home (at pubs) then it would definitely be Toronto.
