I agree that a brewpub wouldn't be viable right now but there are three condo developments in the works in the immediate area. Once those are populated you're going to see business in the neighbourhood really perk up.

Re: East Enders want YOU

Maybe north of Danforth on Broadview would be better... Or else east of Pape on Danforth. East of Pape might have the best accessibility all round. A possibly visionary choice in an area that seems poised to change quickly, along with skyrocketing home values. What about The Only Café? It's listed ...

Molson Stock Ale. I know I mentioned this recently but I tried it on draft again and it was even better: fairly malty, a little estery and with decent big brewery-type hopping. No damp paper smell as often in the past IMO. A Molson counterpart to Labatt 50, sort of like 1970 except there was also L...

Not so readily. Look it up on the LCBO site. In central Toronto there are only three locations selling King Pilsner, with 27 six-packs amongst them. Are they phasing out the bottled version in favour of cans?

I'd been looking at The Park Bar two blocks west of Comerica, at 2040 Park, south of West Elizabeth. But my planned trip fell through.

The Hot Pants IPA was OK - reminded me of Spearhead Hawaiian. I was quite impressed by the Midnight Paddler. Very tasty.

A small store called "Arthur" across from the LCBO at College & Euclid had four Dow porcelain tankards yesterday at $15 a piece. http://img1.etsystatic.com/000/0/5290396/il_fullxfull.33550541.jpg http://img0.etsystatic.com/000/0/5290396/il_fullxfull.33550584.jpg

Here's Peter McAuslan's take on Keith's Hop Series in this morning's Post : Beer giant Anheuser-Busch Inbev NV did something earlier this spring that most of Canada’s business press missed but craft brewers and bloggers watched with fascination. The company’s Nova Scotia-based sub-unit Alexander Kei...

Heading down to Michigan soon so I will look to see what the local stuff is dated. Beware. I'd made the assumption that beer direct from the brewery is as fresh as you can hope for but the refrigerated Pale Ale I got at the Founders store in Grand Rapids last week was dated 12/14/12. And the Crooke...

Picked up a six of Immortal in the east end this morning. No date on it. It's full of crap in suspension. What a disappointment.
