Re: Cask Days 2018

I am having a tough time narrowing things down. I’m in the 30s. I’ll need to start ranking.

Is the keg section new this year? I don’t remember it from last year.

Re: Cask Days 2018

Finally decided to buy a ticket. To accommodate a friend from out of town I’m doing Friday evening for the first time. I noticed the brewery list is up (i don’t know how long it’s been up). I have to say I am really excited to see Yorkshire Square. I know some think they are the best makers of tradi...

Re: Witchstock 2018

Agreed. Only complaint was the hog pen before the rest of the festival opened up. That was brutal. The Carignan was worth the price of admission alone. Couldn’t help but go back a couple times for it. Other highlights were J Wakefield Miami Madness and The Veil Dirt Nap3 which may be the best IPA I ...

Re: Witchstock 2018

So, the list of beers is out for out of province stuff. I assume everyone will be lined up for some Fou’.

I’m going to have to do some heavy planning. Lots of interesting stuff here!

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Bah! I wish I hadn’t seen this. I still have two 2015s that I have yet to open... As noted above, the price is fantastic as it is often $200 to $250 in the States and can trade for at least that much in the dreaded “secondary” value. I bought mine at 11:12 AM and there were 136 units remaining if th...

Re: LCBO Autumn, Halloween and Ontario Craft Beers 2018 Release

The only pumpkin beers I’ve ever liked are Nickel Brook Pissed Off Pete Pumpkin Porter and one from J Wakefield, the name of which I forget.

I don’t hate the others, I just find getting through a serving a bit of a chore. Likewise chilli pepper beers.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Over the past few days.: Allagash Dubbel. The best American brewed Dubbel I’ve had. Hill Farmstead Madness and Civilization 10. Great beer, mediocre book. Six Point BBA 3 Beans. Nice. Town Idaho 7 Bungalow. More flavourful and fuller bodied than the average session beer. Bellwoods Dry-Hopped Gose. A...

Echoing almost everyone. Half Hours and Small Pony. Both excellent and shipping is very reasonable.

Re: Witchstock 2018

The price didn’t really bother me too much. I think it probably keeps some of the ‘drink-as-much-as-possible’ cretins away, which is a good thing. Not that I have given it much thought, but the trading and travel costs associated with getting to try some of the stuff that will be available has got t...

Not only do they exist but you can order their beer through the mail! I’m not seeing anything in the $1 range though. But, we can hope!!!

Re: Witchstock 2018

I was in queue to purchase at 10:00 and then was dropped after about 15 seconds.

They need to start doing lotteries for these things. All you do is piss people off with these online line-ups.

I was able to keep getting back in line too only to be dropped again and again. At 10:19 that stopped too.

Jelly Master is fantastic. I wish I had bought more. I can’t wait for what I hope will be another similar collaboration at Witchstock.

Does anyone know if the next Mog is supposed to be released this Coming Saturday? I thought the Blueberry was terrific.

Cheers.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Ah! The LCBO, where it is 8:30 when WE say it is 8:30! Imagine if this had been a release of something more interesting than HF shelfies? 6-packs of Double Citra would have caused an explosion! I'm with those who call for doing lotteries on these things. That way no one has to divine what "8:30...
