So the Film Festival is coming up again, and it begs the question - what are the best pubs for a drink or a snack in between or after screenings? I often like 7 West, which is close to the Uptown and the Varsity. I think they only have a bottled beer selection, but its a nice place for a quiet drink...

I had a great time at the fest this year. The ballpark was great, the beers were excellent and the atmosphere was just what a good beer festival should have. It is a fest where both the brewers and the festival goers have a good time. Lyle - thanks for all your work organizing the festival - it was ...

I have posted a commentary on this year's Toronto beer festival here.

The recent Buffalo BrewFest inspired me to be critical, as the Buffalo fest truly showed why Toronto's is a sub-par beer fest.

According to the most recent C'est What newsletter, BOP Lakeside Brewing is no more. Lakeside had previously brewed C'est What's Hemp and Rye beers. Durham County, which currently produces their Coffee Porter, Mild Brown and Cask Ale will take on the Hemp; Robinson's will assume brewing of the Rye. ...

Just an update regarding Church Key. They are beginning to get a few Toronto draught accounts - here's where you can currently find them:

Smokeless Joe

Yeah, I've been to the James Gate before, under the impression that it "might" be a brewpub. It's a decent neighbourhood pub, but a brewpub it certainly isn't. Its house beer most likely is another brand with a custom tap handle, sort of like what the Madison used to do.

I usually don't put too much faith in the accuracy of the brewery & brewpub listings in the Great Lakes Brewing News, but I was looking through a recent issue and found an interesting entry: Grattan's Brewery, a supposed brewpub located at 48 Mac Avenue in Scarborough. Has anyone heard of this place...

I was wandering down the Danforth today, and I stopped by the new location of Cafe Brussel, on Danforth just east of Broadview. The new location is under construction, but almost completed - it will re-open on Tuesday, August 28th. Looking ...

Good to see some Cdn. brewers down there. We'll have to ask them where are their IPAs  I am really looking forward to the fest. For some reason, I actually have last year's fest programme in my office desk here. It's a great little guide with some tasting tips, and descriptions of the beers a...

The Smoke, eh? Hmmmm...I don't think I've ever tried that one before. Might be an expensive weekend down at the Fest.

If anyone is having compatibility problems with the list, or would like a cleaner version for printing, I have created a PDF version of the list here:

Yeah, it's going to be a good time. And I'm staying for 48hrs. so no search this time by the customs crew. One tip - I'd advise everyone going to not show up late. It's only a 4 hour fest, and there are a number of beers in very small quantities. Last year I showed up an hour or two late and...

I recall at the Toronto Beer Fest that Michael Hancock mentioned there was a "new" Weizen due to problems recieving their usual yeast from Germany. I also remember him saying there was a raspberry wheat (not KLB). Has anybody tried these or was the heat and sampling beginning to affect me? <font siz...
