I love good pilsners. There's more Ontario pilsners than I tend to think there is (perhaps not all 'good'), but they don't get the same attention as, say, IPAs.

Flora Hall

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/brewery-owner-pinning-hopes-on-pop-up-park-pubs/ar-BB165OEf?ocid=spartan-ntp-feeds Came across this article in which "the owner of Flora Hall Brewing has asked the City of Ottawa to consider allowing breweries, restaurants and pubs that don't have patio spa...

Re: Modern trends

Which breweries have made Mexican lagers lately? Amsterdam, Muddy York, Rorschach, Ace Hill, Sawdust City to name a few off the top of my head. I've seen a number of other breweries offer them as well although can't remember which ones at the moment. I know I said "Mexican" because I had ...

Re: Modern trends

So over the last few years the "trends" seem to have been IPAs, NEIPAs, and then starting last year, everyone seemed to have some type of sour. This year? By my observation, there have been quite a few "Mexican Lagers" introduced. Not judging, but definitely not as exciting for ...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Anyone seen the new Collective Arts IPA (No. 13) in any GTA LCBOs? The LCOB website has hiccups, but in my experience has been fairly reliable. No inventory showing right now. https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/lcbo/american-ipa-16022066098/collective-arts-ipa-no-13-15470#.XuegXW5FxEF

Re: Grand River Brewing

Yes, good adds. I liked a strong bitter or old ale Niagara did, as I recall, though the name escapes me. Brick's Bock was quite nice for a little while. I thought of Granite, which I immediately loved, but in those days you couldn't get them "to go", so think of it more as a destination. S...

Re: Pioneer Ontario Breweries

"One of the first craft breweries in Ontario established in 1996" Not sure how far up the list you have to be to be considered "one of the first", but I think this is an exaggeration. Obviously the true pioneers were Wellington, upperCanada, Conners and Hart (I may be forgetting...

Re: Ontario will allow restaurants to sell takeout liquor, wine and beer

Seems silly to me that people can smoke marijuana in parks... Are you sure? I didn't think legalization of marjuana meant that you could consume it anywhere in public, let alone smoke it. Certainly doesn't make sense that you would be allowed to smoke marijuana in places where you can't smoke tobac...

Re: red tape in New Brunswick

Here is a good news story on Canadian Beer News about red tape being peeled off, albeit in a pilot program. This would be great in Ontario.

Re: Town Brewery

Anyone else think these guys are awesome? I just placed a $75 order actually an hour ago, they’ve got 4 good ones in stock So it turns out Town released not 1 but 3 new beers today, the IPA I had been anticipating, as well as a DIPA and a pale ale. Town is by far one of my favourites as of late. Th...
