Come on, the man is grovelling!

Nice score, guy. I would have bought the last one, too, no hesitation.

The brewery gives it a shel life of 18 months but, of course, they don't mean in a neon-lit store. And we all know 'shelf life' and 'neon-lit store' are mutually exclusive in practical terns, wink wink, nudge... I notice this WW is vanishing faster than the Imperial Stout at some locations, so nobo...

I'm all over that. 8) 8) 8) For any who haven't tried it, this beer, while legal to sell, is not sold on LCBO shelves due to the morally ambiguous naming. 'DT' refers to a very unhappy effect of severe alcohol withdrawal, so the Crown Corp LC stores just aren't comfortable with selling it overtly......

If you folks don't mind my saying, we are kind of like spoiled babies about Unibroue. This fine brewery makes far too many great 'belgians,' sells a good number of them in Ontario, and all we do is carp about the ones we didn't get, right?! :D Hey, if we didn't have Maudite, Pistoles, Fin Du Monde a...

It's unfortunate that the word 'Biére Noire" in Quebec also refers to the St. Ambroise stout, to which the is Chambly obviously not comparable in any respect, including quality. Oops!

Opened a case to try one in rosy shape - at first I didn't care much for the dryness either, but then the overall presentation really grew on me.

Definitely worth a try. I really like the Wm. Shakespeare testimonial on the label, too.

Of course the in-flight crew will gladly serve you 40% ABV shots of liquor while you are screaming across the sky at 400 km/hr...

So maybe it's a "carbonation issue...?"

Thanks.

the Chambly Noire

I'm getting those Unibroue mix-packs for a few friends, and wasn't going to bother myself but how is the Noire, if this is not an exceedingly irritating question?

TRUISM: (n.) a fact so commonly understood as to not require any mention (eg. 'it sure is raining' 'many of our imports are from other countries' 'you should always check beer date codes' .)

But... yes! Always check them!

Strong recommendation to avoid.
Well... any beer that personally offends me, I would want to avoid socially.

I got the Dupont at a Kingston store, for $1.55 each. Insane price for this.
