Haha, I would have agreed with you that they don't use forced carbonation, but it turns out they do! Goes to show what I know.....

Amazing beer. I called it perfect in my review. It's phenominal. I would be happy to have people decline it on the sticker-shock and leave more for the rest of us. Derek is right: They can charge whatever they want. If it sells, it sells. It's totally worth it.

It's definitely worth sending Ron an email as a heads-up. Derek, I believe Granite actually fills their growlers in the brewery, when kegging, and fill them pretty full (rather than filling via a keg later). Still, it could have been a headspace issue. And The Granite definitely carbonates their bee...

This kind of reminds me of last year, when a single person's complaint had the CBSC black list Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. You know, 26 years after it had been released.......

I've popped in twice and agree, it's a cool place with a decent line-up. Haven't had food or stayed long though. To be honest, I went by it a few times, assuming it was a sports bar for some reason. I'd love to go in for a meal soon.

I'm on there. Working on my legendary badge (500 unique check-ins) this year. I'm at 340 right now. Should have it cracked before my birthday in October.

Cratez, I'm not picking a fight here at all, and for all, I still stick to my original statement, this stuff is not "beer" in the sense that we think of "beer". That being said, I don't think the test marketing to Canada is because we are dumb and will buy it and "they"...

In all seriousness, I had the beer today, and it was better than I expected. To clarify: It was less sweet than I was ready for, and didn't taste like artificial flavour. It tasted like a less-sweet packaged iced tea, with a bit of lemon, and a little hint of grain on the finish. The best part: No c...

Liverdie, I sure can understand how you felt, but as you note, that is well outside our control. I'm sadly not there often, and when I am it's normally to check the cask lines, vent new product, and confer with sales reps. I'm usually home for dinner. For everyone else, the music thing is true at Ca...

Hey everyone, sorry just just be getting to this now. Between Castro's and Double Trouble I've had very little time for personal pursuits. Fist off, Liverdie: Very sorry you felt unwelcome at Castro's. When music is on the crowd and staff can get very focused on it. We've also had some problems rece...

I mentioned that in the email I sent back to them, but there's a media tasting/product announcement on March 14th, so it's a well engineered stunt, if it is. I actually kind of hope it is a big April Fool's thing, as there hasn't been a good big corporate one in a long while.

Cool lists! Okay, for stuff available at the LCBO, my top three have got to be Red Racer Tree HH Mad Tom Draught/Brewery distribution would be Boneshaker (I saw a note back in this thread, that Head Stock was 7.1% mentioned as a problem, Boneshaker is allegedly 7.2%, though I've heard it's actually ...

Coors Light Iced T

Coming soon to a liquor store near you.... seriously. It is a blend of Coors Light and "natural flavours" (hopefully including tea), which might actually taste good (albeit, not like beer), and hopefully less synthetic than the Lite Lime things that were oh-so-popular that week, a while ag...

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you all know, the CASK Social is a go for tomorrow. Here is what's (potentially) available. Obviously, we need to kill a cask to put another on.... Granite Darkside Black IPA (on now, might be gone tomorrow) Junction Super-Conductor (also on now, might be gone by tom...

Thanks very much guys. I have to give total credit to Anthony and Stephen, the new owners. I had been hinting and nudging and pushing for an engine for quite a while, but layed-off after they bought the bar last summer, as it's (obviously) a pretty big financial outlay. So I was nearly knocked flat ...
