Re: What're you brewing right now?

I'm going to play around on a small scale with dehydrating thin watermelon chunks then secondary them, see how that turns out. If that doesn't work I will just dump raw juice in the secondary. I like your kolsch route too, intialy I was planing on a wheat beer but the yeast would likely hide the wa...

Re: What're you brewing right now?

Does someone here have a watermelon wheat beer recipe that involves reducing the watermelon juice? I recently came across such a recipe but cant seem to remember where. I recommend against reducing watermelon juice. I brewed with it a few years back and figured that the sugar content would be low, ...

i don't believe this is being billed as a belgian ipa - their website just calls it a belgian ale. could explain why it's not coming across as an ipa. it shouldn't have funk unless it's specifically a funky belgian ale (one of the sour styles, saison) - not all belgians are funky.

yeah, bit of a misnomer there, calling it an "old ale" in the name yet having it be an american barleywine... but whatever, she's a tasty one.

I don't know how I would even (or accurately) pour it. at dark lord day back in '07 or '08, a trading buddy from MN had a 6L that he was pouring one handed. they grow 'em big over there. Coincidentally (since he was also a Jeff), I'm betting Mr Broeders from indie would have no trouble with this. l...

I wasn't really sure where to put this, so here it is. Does anybody know where I could pick up a zip-up beer bottle koozie, preferably with a macro lager logo on it? I'm participating in a bottle exchange and thought the koozie would be funny. how about the obvious: the beer store? most have at lea...

ran through a foursome of de molen's that i got a while back from my quebec connection. Mooi & Meedogenloos, Rasputin, Hel & Verdoemenis, and capped it with a Hemel & Aarde aged in a 1972 Bruichladdich Barrel. all bottled in 2010 and tasting mighty fine. good start to an impromptu long w...

I believe Mill Street is barrel aging their barley wine now as well. Started last year if memory serves. all of it or just a selection for special events? don't recall hearing anything about the bottles being BA, but i may have forgotten...based on my past experience and the price tag, that's still...

I posted with more info in the Cask Days thread, but it looks like Session 3 and some of 2 will only have the Final 4 blind. my understanding is they all start blind and are revealed as they get eliminated...at least that's how it's always been done in the past. but perhaps i'm wrong. either way, s...

They just brewed a batch, so you can probably get your fix shortly. It's gonna crush the IPA challenge this year at cask days. I wonder how many people are going to spend time on that? I have no plans to spend $2.50 for the chance of tasting the beer I want. Especially when there are 300 other beer...
