Not a super hoppy american IPA by any stretch, but a very tasty, moderately balanced, hoppy pale ale. That's the beer that I had. Made me think of Liberty Ale, but super fresh and with different hops--a not-quite-IPA-not-your-typical-pale type of beer. I'm surprised at the negative reaction; usuall...

It was Batch #8, brewed in mid '98 according to the HotD website, so sometime after that.
Er, Wheatsheaf? We never had HOTD at the LCBO.
Umm, yes we did, noob.

I've always found the Rochefort 10 a little too upfront with the booze. I've got about half a case left with 4-5 years on it, and it's starting to mellow out. Fresh, I don't really like it. Just goes to show how tastes differ; I don't like it aged. I drank my way through a case of Rochefort 10 over...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first solo appearance of a St. Bernardus beer at the LCBO. Going back 15+ years I only remember giftpacks. They definitely picked the right one.

I think a good aptitude test for LCBO employees would be to stand them at the cash register, put down a bunch of mixed DdC beers, and see how many of them can figure out that they're different beers with different prices. If it happened once, I wouldn't give it a second thought, but I've been mischa...

That's because it was never mentioned as being part of the release. Someone brought it up as a joke. Look back and see.
Speculative rumour, maybe, but I don't see the joke. Whatever.
