Thats right, it was the change from the Cascade. I thought it was fantastic (drank almost the entire growler), and will be definately getting more when I can.

Right now my favorite is the P'tit Train Du Nord from Saint Arnould Brewery.
A close second is the D'Ham Extra Pale Ale

My step father went to the brewery last week. Said the beers were great. I'm hoping he picked some up after sampling, otherwise I can't try them until march. ......and I drank a Growler of it last night. It is a fantastic beer. He said he talked to the guy there (rob?) and there are different hops ...

A fresh bottle is always preferable to a fresh can, but this is Ontario and the craft beer industry has to grow by any means it can (no pun.). sort of a catch 22 (for lack of better term). The liquor store by their own admission prefers single serve sales. So it almost strong arms craft brewers (on...

Church Key Grains of Wrath

Didn't see it here, but had some the other day and got a 750ml bottle of it as well that is sitting in my fridge.
Very tasty.
I think it's supposed to be a double IPA, but while real good and malty, not overly hoppy, but then it is ontario, and it's certainly the hoppiest I've found.

what is the love for the single serve cans all about? People don't actually prefer their good beer out of a can do they? Some of us don't buy into the old cliche that cans are inferior to bottles. So yes, there are people (like me) who prefer the single serving cans to six-packs of bottles. Note th...

I enjoyed the Hop Sun a few weeks ago when I had some of it. The Extrordinary Ale is ok, nothing special.

The guy at the store described the Southern Tier as better than good quality low cost microbrews.

what is the love for the single serve cans all about? People don't actually prefer their good beer out of a can do they? I can see it being a bonus in some huge stateside liquor stores with more selection than you could shake a stick at, but it doesn't appeal to me often to buy one can of any given ...

Mt Begbies High County Kolch falls under a wheat beer catagory? Would they have entered it under that heading?

would be very interested in trying the garrisons IPA, considering the Wild Rose Industrial Park Ale wasn't in that top three list.

I think the biggest change over the past few years that wasn't previlent when others may have tried this without success, is the FACT that the big guys are no longer Canadian owned. That alone should vastly limit the political influence and lobby power they have held for so long, and greatly influe...

Educating the average beer consumer is a critical factor in our ability to grow. The OCB craft pack is just one step in that direction This is especially true in Ontario I think. I think the quote above about someone saying "hey this is like I normally drink, but more expensive" is a grea...

maybe I'm generalizing a bit, but I don't see the LCBO being around simply because of their testing policies. I don't know a ton about it, but isn't it really only done at the approval process along with being picky about the packaging etc? It's not like they are doing random tests on any kind of on...
