Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Twisted Thistle? Mmm. I get this in the bottle at the LCBO and really enjoy it. I'll assume it's even better on tap :D

Amsterdam Amber

Had a pint at the Elephant & Castle on King Street in T.O. last night. I thought it may have been a bit dirty but I never had it before, and didn't want to be out of place by sending it back. It was not enjoyable. :( It had that cooked cabbage taste to it, not very refreshing at all. And it eft ...

Canadian Beer article

While it's an interesting read, and certainly true of the Big Guy Breweries, it's a shame there's no mention of the Crafts...

I just want to say this is a fantastic idea and about time. While I listen to great homebrewing Podcasts like Basicbrewing, Bar Towel Radio is a great way to stay on top of the Ontario scene.

Keep up the great work

Hi

Oakville here, and a homebrewer too. If the bottles are still avail I'd be happy to take them off your hands.

5 bucks is another pint.

I don't want to sound out of touch, but at my age, I don't frequent bars that have cover charges.

And in keeping with the situation, I DID email West 50 with my gripe and very happy to say it was responded to in a timely and professional manner.

Very gracious indeed

Call me a cheap Scott, but I visited the 50, finally, on Saturday night. I have been trying to find time to visit for awhile and was able to convince my wife this was one place I would not complain about the beer quality. To my disappointment, once we arrived we were told there was a $5 cover to get...

Nice selection, but mind your temps.

Not all beer should be served ice cold, certainly not a Stout.

HI, I have been brewing for almost a year. Don't pretend to be an expert (yet) but I'll help as best I can. 1 - Better Bitters is a great store in Burlington ( betterbitters.ca). You can purchase pretty much everything you need there for a range of styles. They have a great recipe book that breaks d...
