With all due respect, China is not a Western nation with sophisticated health regulations and in some ways it's experiencing the same period of industrialization that developed countries went through 50-100 years ago. So comparing toxic Chinese products to Belgian or American craft beer is quite a ...

Belgium's population is less than Ontario's, it really makes you wonder what our beer scene would have been like if it weren't for Prohibition and the Industrial consolidation. Prohibition definitely killed our brewing culture. And post-prohibition era relics like the LCBO (and all regulations that...

Ya, my review was pretty much identical: D+ / 2.35 look: 3 | smell: 2 | taste: 2 | feel: 3 | drink: 2.5 rDev: +8.5% Why am I even reviewing this? I don't know. A friend offered me this after basketball, it was cold and I thought I'd take a chance since a lime beer sounded refreshing. It was a pale y...

This is my favourite of their IPA's. Hoppier than their standard IPA, but not as ridiculously sweet as Hoppe, Gemini, Iniquity and Unearthly.

I agree it takes less effort if you want to get through the list, but I don't agree that is what the list should be. I think that if someone is already on BA, they probably care about beer enough to be willing to do a little bit of searching for beer (or when the travel, they'd like to see where to ...

I like this way better - I don't want to see all the limited release/distribution beers in the Top 50/100 lists. It just muddies it up. I've tried 75 of the top 100 overall, and 34 of 50 in Canada. I had tried 22/25 of the previous list from Canada and I've only been really into beer for under 1.5 ...

Steamwhistle and Traditional in the top 50? I remember drinking Traditional in high school in Lethbridge without thinking I was drinking great beer and Steamwhistle isn't even in my top 5 pilsners made in the Toronto area (yet it is the #1 pilsner in Canada now!).

Kitchener Area Brewery Stores

A friend of mine just offered to buy me beer from any KW brewery store and bring it to Toronto next time he comes. Which brewery/beers would people recommend? Pretty sure the choices are Grand River, F&M or Wellington. Is the Grand River Plowman's Anniversary Ale available right now? What about ...

Urgh... not in Toronto until Monday after the store closes... I probably only have 8 bottles left of 2009 Peche Mortel! If I could get more, then I'd feel free to up my drinking pace.
